WWII towers still standing near Rehoboth beach in Delaware. I made some tone edits to be reminiscent of the movie Dune because I loved the sense of scale that the movie and this picture bring.
Split toned this shot, previously uploaded as colour. I still like both versions but feel like this one has more impact.
206 seconds with a welding glass!
I wanted to experiment with some ideas this evening and something a little different. This is a little more processed than I normally do, I prefer to do minor processing and keep the original feel from the camera. However this was more an experiment and a little bit of fun to emulate the old syle of photography when photoplates etc were still being used. Its not exactly what I had in mind but not bad for a first try. That and I was freezing cold taking this. #Edinburgh #Landscape #Scotland #Experiment #Oldstyle

Number 303 of my 365 photo challenge - A split-toned, macro image of a Cow Parsley flower hanging on in very odd weather conditions.
The weather, as I said yesterday, has been very strange here. Challenging to say the least. Things don't know when to stop growing/living due to bouts of mild weather interspersed with cold snaps. It has made the Autumn colours rich but on other days, when the clouds descend and the light disappears, photography is made particularly tricky. Especially if you are trying to focus on nature.
The centre of Vienna, just opposite St Stephen's Cathedral (directly behind and out of shot). It was a fairly grey day, so opted to split tone this.

After the recent heavy rains, the River Nene has broken its banks a number of times. My great pal, DiveDudeJoe, suggested we wander out one morning to take some pictures. I was never really happy with the results... this is the best of the bunch.

Imagine a hand as small as your thumb
That can hold up the earth and light up the sun.
Imagine a face with tiny blue eyes
That saw angels dance at the birth of the skies.
Imagine plump toes on podgy soft feet
That have lead mighty armies down heavenly streets.
Imagine a little button-like nose
That gave breath to life and smelt the first rose.
Imagine a mouth that’s gentle and small
Yet uttered the words of creation’s great call
Imagine a baby with gentle soft breath
Who possesses the strength to overcome death.
Imagine a mother who cuddles and sings
And holds in her arms the King of all Kings.
Imagine the Lord of the Heavenly Hosts
Wrapped up in a manger ‘mid cattle and goats.
Imagine a child who may hunger and cry
But yet had the courage to come here to die.
A baby called Jesus, born in the hay –
Born long ago, but alive to this day.
He came here and lived in the humblest home
To give us the chance to sit near His throne.
Imagine the day when we’re called home on high
To see Him in glory in the great “by and by”.
Imagine “forever” in the warmth of the love
Of that gentle baby who came from above.
Olympus Infinity 76, Fuji Pro 400H.
Truth: I've played with the curves here, these are not the true tones of Pro 400H. You got me.
The call was for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Even late morning the clouds looked like they were seriously gathering.
