CN A45131 13 races through the Canadian shield with an SD75I duo of CN 5733 and CN 5707. The snow situation in the Greator Toronto Area has been next to nothing, so it was extremely refreshing to spend a day in Central Ontario, shooting trains blasting through the snow.

Last year we went to the Black Rock Desert for the Mudroc rocket launch event. The playa (dry lakebed) was perfect, very smooth, and not too dusty. In September we plan to go again to launch a rocket with the biggest motor yet. Yay!

I captured this car speeding on the playa in a distant. It looks like it floats above ground due the mirage effect.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the curves.

Still not loving my night photography; I feel like I get better each time I venture out but it does always feel like there's something missing from each shot.

I'll figure it out eventually and for now am happy to see improvement each time I attempt this style.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

'Hot Wheels'; toy cars.

More of the Peregrine Falcon love affair on the ocean cliffs. You might remember their mating behavior I posted a couple of weeks ago. It's heating up here as he entices her with a flyby carrying a freshly caught feathered prey. She eventually followed him and they did a mid-air transfer, way out of my range. And that's the Blue Pacific for a background.

Alaska.....in the middle of nowhere.......I swear, just me and a street in the back of beyond - and a cop.

Andy was laughing his ass off.......and took the shot of the day.

The Empire Builder speeds along the Canadian Pacific River Subdivision at Whitman as seen from the road leading to Lock and Dam 5. Around Wabasha the Builder slowed up allowing me to catch up to it and manage a bonus photo of the train. I had allotted one photo before Winona, one after Winona, and another after La Crosse. I managed to sneak in this second photo before Winona. Oh, and might I say that the Empire Builder looks strange without a baggage car.

In Oekraïne rijden een hoop vrachtwagens rond die je in westerse landen niet ziet rijden. Vanaf het balkon van ons appartement was het leuk spotten. Nogmaals bij deze foto, mocht iemand het merk en type weten, reageer dan even. Bedankt!

In Ukraine there are a lot of trucks driving around that you don't see driving in Western countries. It was fun spotting from the balcony of our apartment. If someone knows the brand and type of this truck, please comment below. Thanks!

68015 and 1J52, the 1738 London Marylebone to Stourbridge Junction, screams into it's final destination. I was taken with how fast the approach was and expected it to over shoot. There are certainly good brakes on those mk3's.

En route to Sheffield from Leeds in the company of 43075 & 43061. The train was heading towards London st Pancras and even though was operated by East Midlands Trains the stock was still in Midland Mainline Livery - the previous operator.
