The white carrier recognition stripes were painted on to VMTB-143 aircraft in late 1945. Some vets referred to them as invasion stripes.

Slowing things down, to watch them speed up.

Speeding like a bullet train.... Well it may seem so...but it was actually a car. I love the reflection this streak of light produced in the water. Photography at its best.

ISO 400. F8. 1.3 Seconds.

Prabhakaran, Ranjith, Ravi and myself, treated ourselves to an early morning drive along East Coast Road, and reached Muttukadu, prior to Sunrise. We had an amazing time capturing pre-dawn images, as well the gorgeous sunrise.

I begin to share some of these images over the week, part by part.

Seen having just passed Acton Mainline is a westbound HST service from London Paddington. Speeded up a bit in Picnik.

An un-identifield Class 50 in NSE livery speeds through Sonning Cutting on its way to London Paddington in August/September 1987

On GA Hwy 365 north of I 985. By law all traffic must move to the left lane, or slow down to 10 mph below the speed limit if a merge left is impossible.

Mozambique's Primary East-West Arterial Road - EN1, roughly equivalent in economic and geographic terms to, say, the M1 in the UK; I-95 in the US or the E40 across Europe. This is the route taken by all of Dalmann's timber en route to the port at Beira. We travelled the route in the dry season: in the wet, I'm told it gets much worse. Apologies for the brief loss of focus near the beginning of the clip: I was pre-occupied with hanging onto my gear (and my breakfast!) at that moment and lost concentration. Likewise the wild loss of framing a few seconds later. Driving this route, even with an experienced driver like ours, is a real rodeo ride! These folk work really hard to bring their beautiful timbers to market!

I got my first speeding ticket ever on Saturday. I was allegedly going 58 MPH in a 45 MPH area. I posit the officer (evidently the chief of the Millerton Police Department) was waiting at the bottom of the hill for people coming up from the city in their rental cars, not realizing how fast you can go down a hill without putting your foot on the gas. GRRR.

Finally wrapping up this album of images taken at the Steel Pier Classic Surf Contest back in May. I may find another image or two worth sharing, but for now it's done. And ending with another favorite shot from the contest. A little slow shutter work of pro surfer Mikey Melchiorre hanging heels in the beautiful morning light.

And this is a good time too to let you know that we've started a new website for our photography, www.amphotographyart.com. I downloaded most of the images from this album there yesterday and they are available for prints if you're interested. We'll have a lot more variety of work coming in the days ahead, so check back often and maybe you'll see something that catches your eye. Pretty excited about getting started with this. It's the same site that I use for selling prints of my artwork (Fine Art America). Check it out! :)

Since shooting 276 on Saturday it became final that this would be among the last manifest freights routed all the way east across the DM&E to the River Sub. This week this traffic started heading south at Owatonna to Iowa and across to Marquette, IA for Sabula and ultimately Chicago. Ethanol trains will continue to use the Minnesota City connection but it will be odd to not have mixed freight coming off the DM&E as it has for so long. October 27, 2012.

On a very beautiful monsoon day, seeing the weather I decided to spend my evening at Safadabad after my college hours. Safedabad is near to my college at a vicinity of around 6 kms.

Watching trains pass through lush green paddy fields of rural Uttar Pradesh is a bliss in itself! Seen here is 13152 Jammu Tawi - Kolkata express rushing towards Barabanki behind LDH WDP4D 40592.

Train heading towards Cadiz, Andalucia, Spain. 2019

Looking down on the road through Sandviken.

A car is speeding towards me through the bend while a yellow bus is rolling slowly in the opposite direction.

A few seconds later, all that is left is their lights.
