The Palais de Chaillot is an iconic building in Paris. Built on the foundation of the Palais du Trocadero.

On VE Day, 8 May 1945, the U.S. Army in Paris celebrated their victory on the terrace of the palace. Over 2800 soldiers, sailors and airmen listened to the victory speech to the troops by President Harry S. Truman.

Speech House Lake in the Forest of Dean is a small fishing lake in the Speech House Woods. Beautiful in the morning light. Not a lot of wildlife about when I took this shot, but I liked the light and the stillness of the lake itself. Apparently they filmed some scenes from a BBC show called “Merlin” here. Never really watched it myself so can’t comment!

A legal art sculpture on someone's private property. Open to the public to photograph as you wish. I had to check it out. It's legitimate artwork and took hundreds of hours to hand carve that.

This sculpture was erected due to a dispute the owner had with the town.
