The Soviet War Memorial near the Brandenburg Gate was erected in what was to be the British Sector of the city shortly after the fall of berlin the Red Army. The fact that it was in the British Sector led to there always being Soviet Army contingent, albeit small, in the Western part of the city to guard the Memorial. That arrangment continued until the re-unification of Berlin.
One of my cameras tends to rewind the film out of nowhere. After a few accidental rewinds, I decided to keep using the film in another camera and enjoy the possible accidents that this would provide.
Pictures come from Fuji 200 that was used first on a Canon Prima and later on a Lomography LC/A.
Again at the Antiques Fair.

This is within the USSR's Economic Achievement Exhibition (VDNKh).
Built in the 1930s for propaganda purposes, it has been added to over the years by generations of Soviets. Funds were apparently cut off in the early 90s (probably when they realised that even the title of the place had always been a bit of an oxymoron)
It contains the most amazing communist kitsch I’ve ever seen! Although still standing, many of the exhibition buildings have now been turned into horrid warehouse shops filled with cheap Chinese goods. It's now as much a meca for the wrongs of capitalism as it ever was to the ‘triumphs’ of communism.
