My young Border Collie bitch Rosie meets this dog literally a second or two before I took this photo. Instantly it's like they have known eachother forever. Not even sniffing and peeing and all that They are one. Soul-mates is the closest way I can think of to describe it. Love at first sight? But they are dogs! Rosie hasn't even started her first season yet!! Phew!

I believe that the soul is often thought about as something small, not a realisation of our everyday lives, yet, our soul literally is our everything, thus I felt the face was an accurate representation of this, we do not think about our face all the time, and it is only a small part of our body, however it is what makes us, us in a sense, others can see who we are through our face, therefore they can in a way see our soul. This is why only the face is visible.
However, in saying this, I would love to know what this photograph says to you without the anchorage of the word "Soul" (:

Sooo..my motivation for silhouettes lately? I've been running out of daylight!! Blah! Today I babysat from 8 am till 5 pm, then went to work from 5 pm till 8 pm. Then I took this. (plus 2 in comments.) It's been an on-the-go day. Anyone who clocks in more than 8-10 hours a day...just..I don't know. I could never do it..I don't have the energy for that! I have the energy to lay by the pool. ;)
Let me just say, I LOVE my new remote. Yay for not running and hitting the 10 second self timer button every moment of my life. It's just that it seems as though I have to point it to a specific part of the camera, and I don't know where! I press the remote button and the shutter doesn't fire, then I hit it again and it works perfectly. It's all quite confusing...maybe I was doing something wrong.
I'm going to the beach tomorrow--I'll be gone Saturday the 19th through Saturday the 26th. I probably won't be able to log on throughout the week, let alone post. :( I'll definitely continue to keep up with the 365 and take tons of photos while I'm on vacation, though!

The Soul out on an XC ride. This is actually the bottom of a wrong turn, but was actually an interesting and pretty valley, so all good. Just a bit of a climb back up.

In the Sapa region there are about 35,000 Black Hmong residing in the surrounding 17 villages and they account for about 50% of the area population. Most reside at an altitude of 1,600 – 1,700 meters above sea level in this stunningly beautiful region they call “the city above the clouds”. The Hmong started migrating to Vietnam from China in the last 300 years.
In this region about half the Hmong are Catholic and half animistic. They live of the land growing rice and corn and they all believe in the spirits.

I try to take a photo of this same elephant every year at the fair. He always pulls at my heart strings. He has such sad and soulful eyes. This year he seemed to be swaying back & forth in one spot alot more, like a self comforting motion...I find it remarkable, that the only thing holding him back from busting, out was a few flimsy posts with a couple of strings, which I erased in photo-shop.
Sometime back when I was driving to Whiterock Mountains to get a sunrise shot, I found this lonely tree, which looked great against the predawn colors. I got out of my car, and it was freezing. Extra time spent on this tree would be a trade off to miss the sunrise, which I didnt want to. With cold, shivering hands, I took a shot of the tree, it looked ok on the monitor and off I went. Later, when I saw it on computer, it was blurry :-(
Thats when I saw Jeff's Solarized tree. I wanted to try something like it. I did a layer duplication and solarized the new layer. Then I overlayed it with the original layer, and found this interesting effect. I saw two trees in one. I found the tree's soul :-)
