I had posted this image some months ago, however it just disapeared from my photostream and it is not the only one.
This small church,located just south of Oakville,IA.,lost its purpose and its soul many years ago.In the spring it is nearly totally buried by foliage,only in the winter does its plight become apparent.Many years ago,the farmer who owns the land put a set of barn doors in the rear of the empty church for machinery storage.It was used for that purpose until the floor caved in-an old wagon still sets inside with its back axles buried beneath the church floor.I'm not making any judgements here,but I think the almighty might not take too kindly to see one of his houses used this way. Nonetheless,this is one of the most photogenic abandonments an explorer will ever come across-no matter how sad it may seem....

This is a look back at the junction between Plummer and Pinnacle Peaks taken on a hurried hike Friday morning when I was supposed to be loading the truck to go camping. God paid me back for my greed by leaving the world socked in until well after I was back down. :-) Made for a totally surreal hike and I had the mountain to myself. I think this one best represents how it felt.
Located on Mercer St. in Dripping Springs, Texas. It's a cool little shop that's owned by a women with 4 boys..:) The store has arts, crafts and clothing. Almost everything is vintage
