I got into a conversation with this old lady during the walk(first she was scared later she opened out); she explained to me how she was living in the past and how she is struggling now and then came the sorrow while explaining how their children dumped her on the street after taking everything from her.... Sad story...

Other shots from the sequence, pl see below.

Taken in a cemetery... I think it's pretty gloomy. She does not look like a happy little stone angel.

Artpiece I made after my mom died

"Wait, for now.

Distrust everything, if you have to.

But trust the hours. Haven't they

carried you everywhere, up to now?

Personal events will become interesting again.

Hair will become interesting.

Pain will become interesting.

Buds that open out of season will become lovely again.

Second-hand gloves will become lovely again,

their memories are what give them

the need for other hands. And the desolation

of lovers is the same: that enormous emptiness

carved out of such tiny beings as we are

asks to be filled; the need

for the new love is faithfulness to the old.

Wait.

Don't go too early.

You're tired. But everyone's tired.

But no one is tired enough.

Only wait a while and listen.

Music of hair,

Music of pain,

music of looms weaving all our loves again.

Be there to hear it, it will be the only time,

most of all to hear,

the flute of your whole existence,

rehearsed by the sorrows, play itself into total exhaustion."

I used to know a bunch of the dances, but the years have wiped them out of my brain.

I made the video, 'Goodbye Sorrow' by creating many small drawings and watercolor paintings, scanning them into the computer, and animating them in Flash.

For the show, the animation was projected into the corner of the gallery. I also chose to display all of the drawings by kind of collaging them on the gallery wall next to the projection.

There is nothing holier or more powerful than sorrow.- Rumi

It is believed that, in sorrow you find yourself closest to God. It gives you hope for a better time to come. In our sorrow we try to comfort ourself , try to keep our faith alive. In her sorrow we find ourself distant from the world.

Today was the burial of a close family friend. She was my neighbor and saragent grandmother to me ever since I was born. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I will miss her dearly.

this picture was actually taken outside her house a last month. Her husband, Jack, keeps a beautiful garden. I always pop over to take pictures of their flowers. They never minded and usually made me tea, cold or hott; depending on the weather.

"I'm struggling to feed my family" shares Sinnakutty Krishnakaran (40) in Bharathipuram|Kilinochchi. He lost his 4th child (1 1/2 year) in Puthumaaththalan in Vanni in 2009 during the last phase of war. He hardly earns Sri Lankan Rupees 1,000/= (equivalent to US$10) for a day through his grocery shop. He has pawned his wife's and sister in law's jewels to run the grocery shop. But he is unable to make any profits.
