My oldest cat Izzy died following a stroke on Sunday 7th November 2010 and we all miss her! Izzy was a rescue cat who subsequently lived a full, happy and much loved life :-)

This wilted rose reflects the loss I felt in the hours following her death!

this is a sculpture from a crypt in a cloistered area of the central friedhof in passau west germany.

For Pam, my wonderful Mother-in-law, who passed away this week after a long battle with deteriorating health. Words cannot describe how supportive, loving and loved she was. She will be sadly missed.

SO ASK FIRST!!

My camera has broken! My faithful, trusty Olympus that I take everywhere with me, has something wrong with it's lens.

I was happilly snapping away yesterday, when it gave a few beeps, the screen went black, and the lens refused to budge. I've got a couple of spare cameras, but they're not the same, and I have yet to 'break them in'. I'm taking 'old faithful' to a camera shop today. Please pray for it...

Catholic men living in Bangladesh’s Gazipur district are singing Koster Gun or song of sorrow during every Lent, a period before celebrating Easter Sunday.

Usually in the evening this group men of Chorukhula village in Tumilia Parish gather at one’s home as requested for.

Toomilia Parish, situated about 40 kilometers northeast of Dhaka, belongs to Dhaka archdiocese’s Bhawal region that has six parishes - where koster gun is familiar and sung by different Catholic men village groups in evening during Lent.

Usually koster gun groups are invited by Catholic families within a village and sometimes out of their parish to sing traditional Lenten songs at their homes, according to sixty-seven years old Robi Rozario, leader of Chorokhula koster gun group, who has been leading the group for 10 years.

Many messages of the song are centered on the suffering of Jesus Christ and his resurrection, according to Rozario. The songs they sing include biblical messages from the Story of Creation and the Flood of Noah’s time to Jesus birth, His teaching and miraculous works.

She cries in front of United Nations office in Colombo while being on a sit down protest urging the United Nations Organisation to take appropriate action without further delay.

I never realized that there were figures carved into the timber and roof truss work near the decorated gussets. The figures are of the 12 Apostles, 6 on each side of the nave. This one is near the back (narthex)--a very haunting and moving representation of Judas and his betrayal. This unique carving has become one of my favorites. All of the figures, and barely this one, face the high altar in the front.
