the shots in this series are in a pretty close time line. One moment he is upset and the next he is thinking of another unique pose for himself. Anyway, I included this one because it seemed to be an honest moment.
i wanted to add a second light to the mix so I used my 580EXII flash for highlight and triggered it with PW. the main light is an alien bee 800 inside of a westcott apollo (50") softbox up and camera right.
The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land
Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky:
A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers,
But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking
He's haunted by the memory of a lost paradise
In his youth or a dream, he can't be precise
He's chained forever to a world that's departed
It's not enough, it's not enough
His blood has frozen & curdled with fright
His knees have trembled & given way in the night
His hand has weakened at the moment of truth
His step has faltered
One world, one soul
Time pass, the river rolls
It's not enough it's not enough
His hand has faltered

Genuine sorrows are very tranquil in appearance in the deep bed they have dug for themselves. But, seeming to slumber, they corrode the soul like that frightful acid which penetrates crystal.

It's hard to post anything today. I'm so sick of how we as a nation can't deal with issues of mental health and guns in this country in any kind of effective way. Are we willing to just accept this because nobody has the guts to stand up to the gun lobby and make some meaningful changes? Are we so callous that we can continue to ignore the problem of underfunded (or nonexistent) mental health systems in this country?
How many more will have to die before we stand up as a nation and try to do something?
My heart goes out to all of the people who have been scarred by this tragedy.

And he talks to the river of lost love and
dedication
And silent replies that swirl invitation
Flow dark and troubled to an oily sea
A grim intimation of what is to be
There's an unceasing wind that blows
through this night
And there's dust in my eyes, that blinds my
sight
And silence that speaks so much louder than
words,
Of promises broken
From "The Obi-Wan Album" by Anofelah.
"For Obi-Wan, him being one of my favourite Star Wars characters, I just had to dedicate an entire album to him. Through all the different animations that came with him, I wanted to showcase my interpretation of this complex character - ranging from his self mastery, determination, courageousness, to his sense of humour and plaisanterie, I present "The Obi-Wan Album"." -Anofelah

I wanted to show in this picture that everyone has their own individual issues. Sometimes it takes a flash to see it.
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told.
There's no such thing as old age, there is only sorrow. – Edith Wharton
