A sorrow's crown of sorrow
is remembering happier times.
Bear and endure: This sorrow will one day
prove to be for your good.
self-portrait
You say just one word
Just one whisper
Hurry to say just one word
To remind me of our grace
Silence growing mad
How did it get so sad?
Leave behind all the mess we made
Are we innocent?

Had a strong reaction waking up
It took a lot of reacting to get up
To walk away with pride intact
Walk away from heart attack
On tight lines of certain wreck and rut
We take our licks and harden up inside
At least for a little while we don’t feel like dying
Slow down my mind for it’ll all subside
The storm is bound to pass in time.
I’m Never Going Back.
I’m Never Going
Back to the alley where I woke
with doldrums I thought I’d never know
Shook it off with a shot of fact,
contemplated a shot to regret,
on tight lines of certain wreck and rut
We take our licks and harden up inside
At least for a little while we don’t feel like dying
Slow down my mind for it’ll all subside
The Storm is bound to pass in time.
If you rest you rust
Trade sorrow in for trust
If you rest you rust
Follow the light out
If you rest you rust
Trade sorrow in for trust
If you rest you rust
Find your ground and follow the light out
I’m Never Going Back.
I had an idea for a more intricate shot this evening involving Riley but by the time I got round to it he was becoming a little emo.
Once bathed and packed off to sleepy land I got the large diffuser out again and tried working some of last nights shot in to this one.
Rotated bokeh to start then a refocus and aperture change on the manual 50mm. Pop of flash through the beauty dish on Lauren and some blue fiber work around Lauren. Removed the diffuser and lit Lauren again with the fibers paying attention to her arms. Another aperture change for the light writer for the stream of tears down to her fingers.
Shot during a single long exposure in the darkness of my front room.
This is my intentional composition for the Our Daily Challenge topic:
SOFT LIGHT is the challenge for Monday 25th January 2021
For me... and I do not always follow what is conventional, shadow effect can be a major part of a compositional photograph when using low lighting. Here I have slight diffused up lighting for my background subject and just a small candle in an antique pattern glass bowl in the foreground reflecting the 'Angel Wings'.

"When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."
Kahil Gibran

Unlike most of my pictures, this one is moderately personal. On the nose symbolism-- a quarrelsome stomach is like a voracious black hole in your life that feels like it fractures every facet. Throughout my life I've had a recurring nightmare of being chased but when I try to fight back, it feels like moving through water and I'm unable to defend myself. Kind of like chronic pain when you can't find a solution.
"There is no despair so absolute as that which comes with the first moments of our first great sorrow, when we have not yet known what it is to have suffered and be healed, to have despaired and have recovered hope."

POPPET: SORROW!
{ The days have been crushing after hearing that my Tante Inge lost her fight after tragically falling and hitting her head last week. I was hoping for a miracle as she was such a fighter and strong willed woman like the rest of the women in this tough skinned German Family of ours! How I will miss you Tante Inge and how I will carry every happy memory in my heart of us together! I know Mom is happy to see you again and I can only imagine the laughter you are now sharing with one another! With love always and forever, Andie }
Today a student ran amok here in germany.. he killed 12 innocent people at his school and 3 people on the street, then he committed suicide.. everyone is shocked.
So I devote this picture to the victims and their family members..
Day 93 of 365.
Don't have much to say about today besides that this is my next to last day till I move but I was joined by my sister so I can be thankful for that. Was so glad I got to spend the day with her.
