sometimes better than the frontside

Sometimes the food makes a reappearance.

This is a real tree root at a park in Springfield, Oregon just about 6 days ago. The lantern was very large and hanging overhead at the Oregon ZooLights festival approx. year 2000. The root reminded me of the dragon.

Sometimes the Royal Train was more lavishly decorated than other First class carriages. The first ever Royal Train, however, was a normal First class carriage. On 29 September 1848, Queen Victoria and her husband, Albert, went 500 miles from Aberdeen to London, the longest Royal train journey ever.

Sometimes you need something to see everything in the right perspective.

Now isn't this a humongous shell?

Welcome and thank you for your time!!!

Sometimes when you post a photo on Flickr, you make a connection.

A couple of weeks after I took this photo I got an email. The writer said that he had also attended the dogsled race and had done a Flickr search for other people's photos. He found this one, and found himself in it. He's the guy with the red parka and the black SLR. He noticed that his camera was pointing exactly toward where my photo must have been taken from. Attached to his email was the photo he had shot at nearly the same moment. And yes, I was in his photo too.

"Sometimes I Just Commit to a Crappy Idea"

I had the greatest idea for today's image......but it was a terrible idea. In a near panic, I found this doll and her.....friend...? In my defense, the lighting would have worked nicely with a human model.......oh..........but, maybe without her friend. There is a strip box at camera-left, and the young lady is standing near the back edge of the light. You can tell this by the location of her shadow. Because the key light is rather close to her, there was quite a bit of falloff on her left cheek. To remedy this and the darker edge of her fecal friend, I positioned a piece of foamcore, just out of frame at camera-right. One can see the reflection in the poo's left cheek. There is a second snooted strobe working on the canvas background. I'm pretty sure Vermeer would be in awe. Please feel free to comment with your own title for the portrait. Thanks for plopping by!!

Sometimes memories are not at all like the actual event, yet they are what stays with us and eventually become reality.

Ed was kind enough to bring me a printed copy of the September 5th 2010 El Paso Times in which our photo "Sometimes" appears accompanying an article about Austin! Thanks Ed! (Sorry for the iPhone shot!) :)

50mm f/2 for a bit more sharpness; No photoshop, since my trial ran out and I have to cajole work to get CS2.

There has been debate in FlickrForums about when it's OK to post pictures of strangers and when it's OK to post pictures of kids. For me, the issues are only different when they interesect -- I'm very careful about taking pictures of kids at school functions, much less posting them.

The best solution, these days, is to have the kids you're going to photograph sign release forms (yes, I actually follow the rules in cases like this).

Barring that, though, it's usually OK to run pictures that do not show the kids' faces. Kids faces are great, though, cute and filled with emotion, so it makes it much tougher to get a compelling shot. This one isn't nearly as compelling as it would be if I focused on the reactions of children reading their own work in a comic book, but at least it tells the story.

I was actually asked, with some anger, why I was taking pictures, until I showed that I was supposed to be here and wasn't taking any faces. It's sad that these times are so paranoid; sadder still that sometimes it's deserved.

A christmas gift I knitted for someone who kept hinting for a cap....

Sometimes when I'm alone I Cry, Cause I am on my own. The tears I cry are bitter and warm. They flow with life but take no form I Cry because my heart is torn. I find it difficult to carry on. If I had an ear to confiding, I would cry among my treasured friend, but who do you know that stops that long, to help another carry on. The world moves fast and it would rather pass by. Then to stop and see what makes one cry, so painful and sad. And sometimes... I Cry and no one cares about why.

Sometimes the spectators are more interesting than the spectacle…

Sometimes DongWoon would randomly go to one of the other members and start dancing with them lol Such a shame this is the only picture I took of one of those moments.

This shot was taken in Budapest in the same place where I took my other picture "Details"

I made this HDR from 3 Raw shots.

For those who comment I will try to write back and to check my contacts shots... but I cant all of you because I this week I write my last exams and I study.

Thank you anyway!

Sometimes you stumble across something really cool.
