One stem ... two gerbera flowers!
Smashingly gorgeous X 2 = this lucky find which is hanging out in my garden.
And now for something completely different. Standing on the boardwalk at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center I looked almost straight down and saw this mottled duck preening. During the preening process, ducks turn into contortionists and watching them can be quite entertaining. I hope some of you are entertained by this quirky shot.
For all his Flickr friends who have been worrying about VIT HASSAN
He was travelling in Sudan but we didn't hear anything from him since December 2006...
There's good news now and I want to share it with you. I quote a message from Vit's friend David Haberlah:

"VIT IS FINE!
I am sooo glad to report to all of you that Vit is alive and fine in Europe. He has however no access to the Internet for the near future. I have just received a letter from him and I will ask him to write one for his Flickr friends which I will scan and upload on his behalf.
Cheers, David Haberlah"

I don't know if you guys see it...but when I was taking snow pics, these lips popped out at me! Looks like kisses in the snow! I made a pink one and left the white one so you could see. This works for HBW too...with all of the snowkeh in it!
Merry Christmas Eve to you all...lots of Snowkeh kisses and hugs!

Morning light:)
Last night I decorated my table with candles using my cake tin for dinner with friends, it was quite the conversation as it wasnt the usual glass with a candle placed inside that we all use and especially as I added star anise and cinnamon as decoration it gave my table a dark Christmas theme twist and everyone loved it have a great day x
Yeah OK.... so maybe it's a bit closer to a flower shot than the last one...... but hey, it was my promise and I'm allowed to go back on it.... ;-)
Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of first September was crisp and golden as an apple. -J.K. Rowling

"Something completely different".
Well, usually it's Pips spreading the love on her big sis, not the other way around.
She looks a little disconcerted to say the least ;)
sooc..
Apologies to the group admins for not posting to the thread each month as well... something has changed in the process and I haven't been able to work it out.
Each attempt has resulted in just the link coming up in the comment box, no pic at all.
Yes, I have followed all the google instructions :\
No quote this fine English Evening, I think like most photographers I stick to a comfort zone.. perhaps I remain stagnant in my photography.. busy life, family, blah blah, always wanting to do something a little different.. I love 'Still Life' but I hesitate on exploring it. Fear of failure maybe? But then like most genuine non-ego photographers who photograph with a true passion for the art of photography and always happy to learn, I fear failure a little and who wouldn't.. so.. this fine summers afternoon, I picked some flowers from my bloomin garden and played around, no usual bokeh, no depth of field, no 1.4 apertures, no guaranteed results I know I can do, I tried something different the very scary world of 'Still Life'!! I have the imagination and I know my camera inside out, but I remain stagnant.. so here is a small go at something less guaranteed in my knowledge, but something I want to do.. polite opinions welcome.. go gentle one me I've had a rough week :))
An explosion of color...you'd never guess what this exploding rainbow really is. It's a siver metallic bow off one of my birthday gifts! I thought it was pretty cool! Something different...Happy bokeh Wednesday!
Luke Jerram's Floating Earth seen at Pennington Country Park in bright sunlight, meant to be viewed in the dark and I will be there Friday. The Volunteers did a litter pick today and as well as the birds we got to see this.
