It is always such a pleasure to be able to escape the city in the lowlands within a short time up to the wonderland of snowy mountains in the Black Forest. Lovely views over the Rhine valley and to the Vosges mountains are possible on clear days.
At first I admire always the wonderful old Beech trees if I am on the Schauinsland mountain. They are some hundred years old and I love them.
These trees look always a bit like dancing because they are formed by the strong Westwind.
The beech trees look so different every time - sometimes a heavy load of snow paints soft lines - another time the snow was melting a bit during the days (often 0 + 2 C around noon ). Than cold nights (-7 to -10 C) add a real icy look, like in this image.
By the way, these are actually 2 trees standing together.
I have taken many images of them - it is never, ever boring
to capture their beauty in winter.

Thanks for your kind visit, dear friends :-)
Kilchurn Castle (/kəlˈxʊərn/)[1] is a ruined structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was first constructed in the mid-15th century as the base of the Campbells of Glenorchy, who extended both the castle and their territory in the area over the next 150 years. After the Campbells became Earls of Breadalbane and moved to Taymouth Castle, Kilchurn fell out of use and was in ruins by 1770. It is now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public in summer.

It was quite a challenge to get from my camera to there in 10 sec!
Thanks for having a look! All faves and comments are highly appreciated!
You do me (and hopefully yourself) a big favour by pressing L and then F11, to view at maximum size.
I'm really fond of the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. In my humble opinion, he made some of the nicest designs lately. Okay, all his projects are exorbitant expensive. But when I got aware that he finished the train station in the small town of Mons, I needed to see it for myself.
And I liked it! I hope you do too....

I rescued this leaf so I could use it as a natural book mark.
It was so lovely I decided to take a photo of it.
