Went on a camping and beach trip last weekend.
It was indeed fun-filled!
Here's a shot of the fireworks display they had on Saturday night.
The show wasn't as great as the others I've seen before but this one was a first.
Fireworks on top of the water!
I'll let you see some more in the near future.

I finally got a cover for my phone. Had to be custom! It's a detail from the first Armenian printed Bible (1668) showing the amazing bespoke typeface cut by Christoffel van Dijck.
Between something old and something new, I'll take this something old any day of the week.
The something old: the old JP Morgan Chase building. The JPMorgan Chase Building, formerly the Gulf Building, is a 37-story 130 m (430 ft) Art Deco skyscraper in downtown Houston, Texas. Completed in 1929, it remained the tallest building in Houston until 1963, when the Exxon Building surpassed it in height. The building is the Houston headquarters of JPMorgan Chase Bank.
The Something New: 811 Main Street BG Group Place (formerly MainPlace) is a 630 ft (192m) tall skyscraper in Downtown Houston, Texas. It was completed in February 2011 and has 46 floors. It is LEED Platinum Certified. When it was completed, BG Group Place became the 15th tallest building in Houston and features a skygarden on the 39th floor.
I finally made it official. After many many years of dating I asked the most amazing woman in the world to marry me.

I have been working a little bit on some jewelery, and acessories. Here are some of the first finished products - some tiny earstuds! I am definitely keeping a bunch of these... hee
On this card I tried two things new. I used this beautiful 4 Fun Flowers stamp for the first time and I can see they will be on my table often, since they are so cool. For the bg I used the SSS border die in a new way for me - I die cutted it twice, so I made a panel. And...this is a card to welcome new girls on the ABNH design team. I got new glasses last week. Can we all pause for a moment of silence in appreciation of being able to see out of spectacles? The last time I got glasses was 18 years ago.
After a night of coughing and hacking and struggling to sleep, I opted out of wearing the contacts. In preparation for tonight, I am sipping on some homemade cough syrup. You know, lemon juice, honey, and something with a kick...
This is me wearing new glasses gazing into our old mirror.
Good night! Wish me luck on sleeping.
Freezing motion using the 60 fps capability of the Oly OMD - No flash, just ambient light and bits from the kitchen. Not often you get to eat the subject! Took a bit of practice to get the timing right and eventually enable 60 fps - only in silent mode which is indicated by a heart in the menu - sort of obvious really!. Managed some small water drops at the standard 15 fps so will add another image..
D&E Coaches Volvo B8R Plaxton Panther 3 YX22 LVY is pictured outside the company's main depot building in Inverness doing not a whole lot at that moment. This vehicle wears the standard D&E white livery with logos and swoops, and being a newer coach it features the newest iteration of those swoops. In recent times this coach has found itself repainted into the newest Scottish Citylink livery to be ready for some additional contracts D&E have won for Citylink routes. It is also believed one of the VanHool EX16Ms will be repainted but that outcome is yet to materialise at the time of writing this.
Stuck looking at the side of the Panther for a while is VanHool TX15 Alicron S11 YST (Originally YJ14 CAV). This vehicle wears the same livery style but with an older version of the swoops and logos.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This photo was taken during a pre-arranged visit to the D&E Coaches depot facility and was supervised at all times. Do not enter bus depots unauthorised!

This is another one of my daughter's hot chocolate mugs, on the other side it says: "Follow your dreams...you never know where they may lead you." We all have dreams inside, things we're passionate about, things we'd love to do, something we'd love to share with others, but it can be so scary to let that dream out into the light and live it. So follow your dreams...live it even if it doesn't always go right, life is about learning, about stepping out and trying something new.
"The ninety and nine are with dreams, content but the hope of the world made new, is the hundredth man who is grimly bent on making those dreams come true."

My Mom got me a new ball. It's so light compared to my Kong ball and I love it. We will take it out every morning and play with it. I have 3 more just like it but in a different colour. Mom says these are better than tennis balls because they don't have any fibers that can come off into my mouth.

the room at the top of the house which was my office for 10 years has changed recently into a room of my own. I have given away my drawing board and many of my gardening books to a young garden designer friend who is starting out with her own business. Along one wall of my room I have three bookcases pushed together which form a long open shelf along the top - upon which 'stuff' accumulates and is moved about in a happy, not very neat everyday existence. I have decided to photograph the things on the shelf from time to time exactly as they are - with no attempt to make them into a still life. The picture of Abby (and Ben) in this photo wasn't taken by me, but Jonathan Worth (a friend of Ben and Abby's) - his website is well worth visiting.
Michael Seidmann gave me the idea of the word serendipity by using serendipitous in a recent comment and Harris Hui has reminded me, by asking me whether I have one, that my 105mm lens is under used. Thanks.

I am always interested in new things and today I learned about an interesting musical instrument called a Theremin, that was invented in 1920. The Theremin is an electronic musical instrument in which the tone is generated by two high-frequency oscillators and the pitch controlled by the movement of the performer's hand toward and away from the circuit. She is amazing and I was so happy to hear her playing Jill's Theme (written by Ennio Morricone) an amazing song from my favourite Spaghetti Western.. Once Upon A Time In The West. Here's a link to Ms. Illenyi's performance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lY7sXKGZl2w
Just got my Vagabond back after some repairs figured I would go out and try something a little different. I used one Alien bee b800 with a medium soft box. This image is composed of 4 different images merged into one. I back lit the car, then lit the rear quarter, the front and then the background. I am pretty happy with the outcome and how I went about editing the photo with trying this for the first time.
