"Sol Duc Falls is by most accounts one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Washington State and by proxy is one of the most sought out waterfalls by photographers - and chances are it ranks favorably nationwide in similar comparisons. Set within the thick temperate rain forest of the Olympic Mountains, the Sol Duc River creates one of the more uniquely shaped waterfalls in the northwest where it splits into as many as four channels - depending on the volume of the river - hurtling 37 feet off the side of a cliff into a narrow canyon, followed by an 11 foot flume-style drop as the river exits the canyon into a broader gorge below. The National Park Service has done an excellent job at constructing rustic viewpoints that provide many varied angles of perspective.
Prior to 1991 the accepted spelling of all features bearing this name was Soleduck (sometimes spelled Solduck as well). The Washington State Board of Geographic Names approved the change to Sol Duc because of its more accurate translation from the Quillayute word, meaning "magic waters", from which it derives. A legend tells of two dragons, Sol Duc and Elwha, who fought to a draw and were sealed in deep caverns. They wept hot tears at their confinement which furnishes the water for Olympic and Sol Duc Hot Springs."

...i colori della foto sono reali, soltanto il cielo è stato lievemente scurito. All'orizzonte, sul mare avanzava un cumulo compatto di nuvole scure ed il sole stava per scomparirvi dietro.

Mi ha sconvolto sapere ( sempre che sia vero) che questa era la canzone preferita di Riccardo, il diciassettenne che ha sterminato la sua famiglia, una famiglia 'normale'.
Una vicenda ripugnante, che ferisce tutti nel suo orrore.
Mi ha riportato anche alla mia giovinezza, a quando avevo l'età di questo ragazzo.
Anche io ho pianto molto ( anche se ogni vita è unica e irripetibile) , in silenzio e anche io amavo, oltre alla musica classica, i Beatles.
Anche se questa non era la mia canzone preferita, perché mi piacevano quelle più allegre, scanzonate.
Ho sofferto molto, anche odiato in certi momenti, ma mai avrei pensato di fare del male a qualcuno.
Avevo davanti vie difficili, piene di solitudine, di cui non vedevo lo sbocco... Ma avevo anche i miei sogni, la voglia di libertà, di studiare, di viaggiare, di amare ... In fondo di vita

Serra de Tramuntana on Mallorca island (Spain) is a World Heritage Site declared by the UNESCO under the cultural landscape category. It is a mountain region in the north-west of Mallorca (Balearic Islands) with an altitude up to 1.443m (Puig Major). Besides the beautiful mountains there are very scenic mountain villages with the typical agricultural terraces and countless orange, lemon and olive trees.

Sol Duc Falls plunges more than 40 feet (12 meters) over the Sol Duc River in Olympic National Park, Washington. This image, created by merging two photographs, was taken from the bridge above the river on a rainy April evening in 2025. Later that year, on June 8, tragedy struck when a young man slipped on the wet rocks above the falls and was swept over the brink into the turbulent waters below.
