Coming back from the Ciudad Perdida after five days of walking through the trees.
I saw that light through the trees and ask all of my friends to pose in front of it in the way that they'd like, knowing that I would get at least one good picture from that.
That would be the one.
I really like its atmosphere.
It makes me think about Lara Croft in those Tomb Raider games and movies.
Go Lara, go!
A very large flock of robins set down in my backyard this afternoon. They swept over the newly thawed ground looking for seed left behind by all of last years wildflowers, and played in the puddles being formed under the warm spring sun. They looked happy to be here, and I can tell you that I was glad to welcome them. Mornings will be extra special now, as I awaken to their cheerful birdsong.
Female Brambling in the sunshine on the woodland floor ...
She was very hard to spot as she blends in so well against the leaf litter, very pleased to get her.

I was a bit surprised when I realized I was sharing the trail with this cute little guy. It was literally a freezing day in January and I was walking very briskly, when I noticed a flash of the brightest yellow and bright orange legs! We live in their year round range, but this is the first I have seen around Amelia Island. Maybe because they are almost exclusively found in pines and we don't have many pine trees close by? One interesting fact I read about them is they are the only Wood Warbler that eats a large amount of seeds.........which he was doing picking along the ground.
Photographed the Palm Warbler hunting for insects in the backyard in Highland Village in the City of Lakeland Polk County Florida U.S.A.
