Photographed this Northern Cardinal at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens located in the City of San Antonio Bexar County Texas U.S.A.

Winter heightens the drama at Death Valley National Park.

Certainly, this is known as the hottest place on earth, and contains the second lowest point in the western hemisphere, but most people are unaware that this is the largest national park in the lower 48 of the continental United States. The park also contains large portions of the Argus, Panamint and Amarcosa mountain ranges, with Telescope Peak reaching 11,049' in elevation.

The view from Zabriskie Point (named for a Vice-President of the Borax company, which mined here with their famous 20 mule-teams in the early twentieth century), captures the sandstone badlands of the Amarcosa in the foreground (including the Manly Beacon and Red Cathedral), Death Valley, and the Panamint Range as the backdrop.

On a chilly winter morning following an exceedingly rare rainfall, the skies are dramatic with the sun reaching through some of the cloud layers, but not others, to create drama and colors, not normally captured here.

This view of the La Sal Mountains, with the Windows Section of Arches National Park in the foreground was just before sunset.

Morning sun on one of the most interesting spots of the Blue Canyon / Moenkopi Wash just south of Tuba City/AZ.

All the best in your photographic journey.

A pyramid-shaped mountain that is a lookout.

One of the beautiful attractions of the Black Desert is Pyramid Mountain, a relief form that shoot up from the ground much like a pyramids out of the desert. The mountain has symmetrical sides and a pointed peak.

This natural pyramid is just a few kilometers away from Bahariya Oasis. Locals call it Magic Mountain because of the way the light plays on the texture and material of the mountain during the different hours of the day. The golden colour of this rock is very attractive, especially in the later afternoon sun.
