Despite yesterday's sunshine, this was the only ladybird (7-spot) I saw at lunchtime! Did also see a gorse shieldbug, but it was far too deep in the gorse, for a photo! I didn't feel like being impaled!!

She always brings this to bed with her and then I have a lump in the bed when I turn over! After I took this picture, Blueberry was sleeping, rolled over and fell off the bed. She had this dazed expression when she looked at me, like I pushed her off!!

ok, just have to say, for the record, that I didn't touch her eyes here. This is really how they are . . . .

I was about to leave Braeside Park after a nice morning walk but, thanks to a random act of kindness practiced by a fellow photographer I met at the carpark, I was able to see and take photos of not one, not two but 5 different Tawny Frogmouths in Braeside. I particularly liked this mum and her two chicks (at first sight I thought there was only one) sitting pretty in the morning sun.

Chick number two looked like s/he was smiling this morning.

Thought these twins were so adorable snuggling in to one another

Julia is still not wagging her tail... she just shows her appreciation by rubbing her head on me. What a special girl.

I will keep you posted as her healing process continues.

RSPB Fairburn Ings

These two are going to be inseparable I think =)

We visited Chartwell House yesterday, the home of Winston Churchill. There were house martins nesting in the eves all around the house, and the sky was full of parents catching insects to feed their young. I managed to capture these cute pair waiting for a morsel. Not the best photograph, but a cute shot.
