After climbing all the way to the top of the nest tree, he must have been tuckered out with his efforts. Shortly after Mom flew in and gave lots of loving snuggles and preening, then flew off only to return with another reward for his accomplishment, she gave him a small rodent which he gulped down pretty quick! :)
Mom Barred Owl flew in to reassure the newly fledged baby and preened it for a few minutes before flying off to the nest to check on the other baby

When we pulled into our driveway these two were like this on the window perch. The sweetness is off the charts!
Well, what a day Monday turned out to be. Once we arrived back at the camper and a much needed clean up, cuppa and a light bite. I had remembered Arthur mentioning he was closing the site down for the winter but he advised that another further up the coastal road would be open for another week at least.. Once packed up we set off. At the end of the road standing at the gates was Arthur. We said our goodbyes as he slipped a note into my hand, "Just a few safe ideas, you may like to try while your still around this way" he grinned and waves us off...
The next site wasn't that far at all and just as beautiful as the last.
I quickly set up camp again, set out my traveling clothes horse and hung out wet clothes from earlier, the evening was still warm and no rain forecasted.. Jellybean and I went to stretch our legs a little but soon returned home, Haha home, I now have an idea of a snails life.
One more hot drink, then I climbed into bed, JellyB soon found her spot. It wasn't long before the only sounds to be heard were the eerie hoots of an owl, crickets chirruping and gentle snores from the both of us. zzzzzzz
