Phill feeds the cats in the morning and brings me a cup of tea in bed. Pixie never waits around for food, she races Phill upstairs so she can snuggle down with me in bed while I drink my tea and read the on-line papers. It's 'our thing'
I spent an evening and night taking care of my Mom and when I was about to leave the house to head over, I heard Benedict, aka Bene.
"Mum? Uh . . . Mama? Are you leaving?"
"It's okay, Bene, darling! I am going to take care of my Mom for the night."
"May I come along? Please? I don't think I have been there yet."
"Oh, yes, Bene! It would be great to have you along! And my Mom is a great teddy bear grandmom!"
"I love love that very much, Mum . . . uh, Mama! I will sit quietly and read and if I had a spot of tea, it might feel just like England! Well, except that it was sunny and hot here still!" Bene giggled.
"That would be very nice, Bene! We will see what we can do! Thank you for coming with me!"

Did you know one of the names for a group of sloths is a ‘snuggle of sloths’? Mind you, this term would seldom be used because sloths are mostly solitary animals, except during mating season, when they males are usually trying to knock each other out of trees.

Africa is the eldest of the calves and everyday I can see her having characteristics just like her mum, Muriel.
I love when after running and playing with the other calves she looks for her mum and will run to her and give her the biggest nuzzle.
And in turn when Muriel wants Africa to be with her, she will call her and Africa will come running. To me, it's like they hug each other and then they continue grazing.
It is very sweet.

A zebra dove (geopelia striata) snuggled down for an afternoon's rest. These birds spend much of their time foraging for seeds at ground level and are quite happy to relax on the ground rather than in trees. Photographed at Trou D'Eau Douce, Mauritius.
I picked this mug up about a month ago and have been waiting ever so patiently to pull it out and put it into rotation.
One of the great things about this mug is it is bigger than it seems, so really it's like getting two cups of coffee at once.

We have had several days of freezing cold temperatures. All the cats have spent their time snuggled down in warm spots around the house. Pixie was sitting on some blankets in front of the window with the sun pouring down on her. Tonight is our last night of below zero temperatures for a while - yeah!
Three of the seven Canada goslings on my local park, taken a few weeks ago. As of yesterday, all seven are doing well and are now about the size of adult mallards.
