White-out near Cochrane, Alberta. I'll be away from tomorrow for a week but will catch up with you when I can - HFF!
Our farm in MidWales which has seen the heaviest snowfall this year. A rather different picture of this farmlane can be seen in my HOMEFIRES set.
Winter Storm Jonas wreaked havoc all along the East Coast of the U.S. this weekend but we decided to put the snow to good use and took three Raptors out to have some fun.

Ventisquero Negro ("black snowdrift" in Spanish) is a rather unusual glacier at the base of Tronador in Nahuel Huapi National Park. Its unusual dark brown colour comes from dirt and sediment picked up in the glacier's accumulation zone, which is fed by the Río Manso Glacier several hundred metres higher up the mountain. Brown icebergs calve from the glacier and then float in a small lake until eventually melting.

Deep, wind-blown snowdrifts near the summit of Win Hill. In the distance can be seen the Wheel Stones on Derwent Edge.
A wild overnight snowstorm made sure that Wisconsin & Southern 4054 east, would not get out of Sun Prairie without needing some assistance. In a couple hours, manpower would show up and start digging out the stuck locomotive and short train.

A Winter Drift...
Mid February Karen and I went for a walk through Ken Whillams Conservation Area looking for an opportunity to capture some wonderful images of snow and images of the caledon winter wonderland. .
Going around the small lake is a board walk and nature trail along with well positioned docks for fishing, Karen and I were the first into the park that morning and made first tracks through the fresh snow.
The sun was just climbing when we arrived and setting when we departed; these short winter days force us to squeeze every possible moment out of the daylight we are given. this is a shot of the snow drifts along the boardwalk..

Arriving 9am at home in a blizzard, not as bad as it was going to work 4am, waiting for the snow to stop for me to plow, I will be very busy all afternoon plowing, will catch up later,

Snowdrift and the auroras Taken near Cantwell, AK on the night of 4/6/2023. Making the most of a full moon. Even though it washed out the auroras making them very hard to see at times. I used the bright night light in the sky to find interesting snowdrifts for my foreground.
