This is the spillway or weir on the Glenbeulah mill pond. This was built to raise the level of the Mullet River for the grist mill that was there for decades, but no longer is in use. The caramel-colored river water gives the waterfall lovely streaks as it spills over the dam.

Thanks for stopping by with your views, favs, and comments :)

The plant itself can grow 1 to 3 feet high. The flowers it produces are only 4mm wide though. They are invasive in our area but they are still pretty so I take pics of them anyway.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Crotophaga ani (Smooth-billed Ani / Garrapatero)

The Smooth-billed Ani is a widespread resident of scrub and forest clearings from the Caribbean and Costa Rica south to Uruguay and northern Argentina; it also occurs in south Florida, although the population there has declined significantly there in recent years. Smooth-billed Anis live in small flocks and eat a variety of insects, small vertebrates and fruit.

The Nabegataki waterfalls in Kumamoto prefecture, in Southern Japan. With plenty of rainfall as of late, the falls were even more impressive than usually. There were only few tourists around, which made taking pictures easier.

最近、雨が多いですから、熊本県の鍋ヶ滝の勢いは通常よりもありました。訪ねた日には、観光客はわりと少なくて、撮りやすかったです。

Green Winged Teal spreading its wings. Bombay Hook, DE

To smooth out the water a little on a breezy dawn I put together my Kase 6 stopper ND filter and 1.2. Grad ND filter to gain a few more seconds of exposure. It worked fairly well and intensified the dawn colours quite well too.

Lake Louise is always beautiful but on this morning it really showed its splendour.

I love shooting construction sites when I can get close enough. I was talking to the site foreman and he let me get up on a platform next to where they were pouring concrete. I got his e-mail and sent him some pics. He told me that in all the time he had been in construction, he had never looked at it the way I do. Took that as a compliment.

Love and solitude are the one ground of true maturity and freedom. Solitude that is just solitude and nothing else (i.e. excludes everything else but solitude) is worthless. True solitude embraces everything, for it is the fullness of love that rejects nothing and no one, is open to All in All

This is a three-second exposure of a small waterfall in a creek in Capitol Reef National Park.

Maryland's South River meeting the Chesapeake Bay.

taken two years ago during our ocean crossing from hawaii to SF (somewhere near the middle, a thousand miles from land in any direction) -- reworked recently & so am finally posting...

it turned out lighter in tone/mood than this one, taken only minutes apart but probably pointing in slightly different directions, hence getting a slightly different relationship of light to ocean...

Talisker Point at Talisker Bay on the Isle Of Skye. This is not a million miles from the Talisker Distillery that makes fine whisky.

Just for the record the title refers to the transition from water to sky and vice versa and not the current state of the Brexit process!!! This gem was first shown to me 6 years ago by a friend. In the summertime this is a very popular spot and behind me there is a really nice beach bar but right now is very calm and peaceful. On this visit and right after I set my tripod I tried to cross to the left of the scene to put my camera bag down. In the process I slipped on the rock and while trying to save the gear (who wouldn’t 😂😂) I obtained a couple of bruises and cuts. That was not enough to stop me as I really liked the ambience and the soft tones. One would think that this is the end of the story but no...after sun went down and I packed away I decided to wash my hand in the sea to clean it; as I was approaching the water I see my phone (in slow motion) falling from my pocket into the water. I can tell two things: 1. I am surprised that my phone still works and 2. It’s not pleasant going in the water in January!

Thank you for looking and sorry for the essay but I thought it was quite funny (retrospectively obviously!)

It is such a treat to watch these otters hunting in the waterways in the middle of the city, Singapore.

The rocks were so smooth and slippery I feared that My camera and I were going to slide into the water.

I decided to shoot this one with a long exposure to try to beautify the raging torrents of water that were passing beside me.
