The peony is a flowering plant in the genus Paeonia, the only genus in the family Paeoniaceae. They are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. Scientists differ on the number of species that can be distinguished ranging from 25 to 40,although the current consensus is 33 known species.[The relationships between the species need to be further clarified 277

An extra long exposure shot at the squinty pier on the waterfront at St Monans.

We enjoy mild weather in these days, a little bit of morning fog and some sunshine later. The weather forecast is certain that things will even show up better with temperatures in the high 20´s. Yesterday evening it was fun and convenient to take a little walk in the fields of Obernbeck, Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany

The silk strands in this photo were spun by a 20 foot monster wave that crashed on the beach seconds before this shot was taken. The wave sent two girls, the only ones besides me on the beach, running in different directions to escape the wave to no avail. They got soaked and we all had a good laugh. Best of all, my camera stayed dry. :)
