In August of 06 I was replacing some submersible pumps in a lift station (sewer). A 500lb pump fell on my foot and crushed my toes. The 2nd toe had six breaks, the middle toe had eight. I can't bend either two at the lower knuckle but I can still walk fine and that's what counts.
Recently I offered to scan some photo's for a guy at work. He was unsure who the photographer of these is, but there are from his collection and now from my collection. In January of 1995 there was a head on collision of the Wisconsin Central as a local was leaving town and a road train was coming into town. Here is the next day, maybe 2 days later. As they were moving some of the cars from the derailment to the rip tracks, they decided to tip over....well as the photos show. It's one quick way to crush a car!

So on my glory day (the day I presented my graduation project), I couldn't find a cable extension, I was really upset that I missed something like that. Anyway I stopped before making a U-Turn and waited my turn, and found myself getting turned around by another car, anyway I went back and I was quite happy and optimistic, I am not crazy, I just thought what's the worst thing that could happen to you on a day like that; an accident?? I just had one and I am safe and sound. Or maybe I am crazy, anyway, it was a U-turn to the day and to the car. And I am out of money, I just fixed the alternator, not gonna do anything else for like 2 months.
Typhoon Souledor hit Taiwan on August 9th and left at least 6 people dead. This was the biggest typhoon to hit Taiwan in a long time and left a huge amount of damage in Kaohsiung. On Sunday I ventured out and took these photos while walking the dog.
This is a jeep in the park outside my house.

Onlookers watch as a tow truck hoists up a smashed car. It looks like it may be A Pontiac, judging by the hood ornament
It's not even been used yet, though it's up and ready … and some idiotic savage has done this to it … here it's been covered over to stop the glass falling out everywhere but even so, the mind boggles at such wanton destruction eh?
It makes me so angry that people come out to a lovely spot for a break from town … and proceed to destroy stuff. Yesterday I went down there and had to clear loads of bottles - plastic and glass - that had been just chucked into the undergrowth. Grrrrrr
And don't ask about the car radios going at full blast, with the windows open, and barbecues smoking all over the place! 😠
Yeah I'm complaining!! 😁
