Mullet Bug. Business up front, party in the back. Seen in the fly fishing town of Maupin, Oregon. I'm guessing the rear storage area might be used to transport a very small drift boat?
Local Sighting - I believe this is the coolest karman Ghia I have ever seen .
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a 2+2 coupe and convertible marketed from 1955 to 1974 - combining the chassis and mecanicals of the type 1 ( Beetle ) Styling by Luigi Segre of the Italian carrozzria Chia . and hand built body work by German coach-builder Karmann

Today was good. :) Nothing really in the morning, Witch Mountain at the Dollar Theater with Ma and Zach in the afternoon.
I hope Nathan calls me tonight.

Bella
This is the story of a girl,
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world!
And while she looked so sad in photographs,
I absolutely love her,
When she smiles...
Say hello to Bella, Bryan's 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. She's classy, sexy and gets down low to the ground. I was fortunate enough to photograph Bella on this beautiful sunny day! Bella reminds us all to keep it classy!

I went to a junk yard today that I've always called the "slug bug" Graveyard. It has around a hundred bugs on this tiny little lot with a scattered few other choice classics. All wrecked, all dead or dying. Definitely all forgotten except by Time.
UNLOCK THE TIME CAPSULE! ⏳ This ‘forgotten’ Beetle holds 50 years of stories. Our parts don’t just fix metal—they REVIVE SOULS. ✨ What history will YOU preserve? Share your dream restoration era below!

Turns out this is my #500 photo posted to flickr! The first few don't really count though because it was just a web album of house shots and home improvement shots.

Some drug crazed hippie weirdo glued a zillion pennies on this here VW. Very odd, eh?
As I was taking this picture a women on an adjoining "houseboat" started screaming at the owner of this fine vehicle that "someone" was taking pictures of his car. I guess too many photographers do violence to the objects they are photographing! Well, it could happen! :-) Even though we stuck around for a bit nobody came up to see what was going on! We later met the nice lady who decorated this scrap heap and she said she changes the motif every six months or so just for laughs and giggles. The car is gone now or I would have photos of the chiffon she glued all over the car!
Behold the cozy coupe cake - modeled after the Cozy Coupe II original colors. I made this cake for a Cozy Coupe themed birthday party. The interior of the cake is red velvet strawberry (top layer) and dark chocolate (bottom layer) with a creamy vanilla buttercream in the center.
Remember when you were a child (or a parent/grandparent) about 25 years ago and the latest toy that every child wanted was the red and yellow mini coupe that they could drive all by themselves (like Fred Flintstone's car)? Now they even come in tiny versions (as shown in the picture on the table).

something with a for sale sign: a pretty spiffy lookin' old school beetle... for sale, right here in the Hood
(taken whilst quasi-drivin' with my mom close behind... so I didn't get the chance to focus, check, etc. Didn't really want her all asking questions about me taking pictures out my car window *blush*)
This slug could have gone around the piece of bark for sure, but instead just slid on over. I got sort of a time lapse of the event, and then it went into the mulch and blended in splendidly.
Slugs are fascinating to me. Those top antennae looking parts are basically their eyes. They sense light, and the ones below sense odors, so those are basically it's nostrils.
Slugs are hermaphrodites, so they have both male and female reproductive organs, however they mate with each other, so it's not like they can procreate all on their own.
They are not really bugs, they are gastropod molluscs, but I put them in my bug set anyway. I doubt I will ever have enough photos of gastropod mollucs to create a set, but then never say, never, LOL!
Hugs and thanks for viewing! =o)
