I got to meet and
interview Slash today
for a documentary I'm working
on (being produced and
directed by the great
Mr. Jon Brewer for Impact Films)
about Jimi Hendrix. Never having
met Slash before, I didn't know what
to expect - but he's a wonderful
guy - very warm, and quite
eloquent on the subject of
Hendrix - one of his idols -
and his music. Though he was four
when Hendrix died,
he knows the music.
Check out Youtube for his version of
"Hey Joe." It's the real thing.
This was taken at
On The Rox - the private
club above the Roxy on
the Sunset Strip in West
Hollywood. "It looks a lot smaller
in here with no people," he said.
My son, who is often is
quite underwhelmed by
the people I photograph
and/or interview (with notable
exception) was super excited
about Slash. So I told this to
Slash, who very kindly not only
signed his autograph for my
beamish boy, but also drew
him a picture - of the
top-hatted skull & crossbones
featured on his tattoo.
That shot-glass on the floor,
by the way, was filled with
water. No drinking. But a lot of
smoking, which I know will
look good on camera.
Yeah.
This was taken on a lucky
day for me, and a happy one,
Friday the 13th of March, 2009.

This a moment of a total nonsense: All of a suden, Slash, the ex-Guns N' Roses bassist appears from the empty space, walking with a beer in one of the hands always with the same expression:)
Saul Hudson, también conocido como Slash cumplió años el pasado 23 de julio.
Ya son 45 años de rock!

These are the girls that were my girls in the NJ/PA office (aka SLASH) and i miss them. It has taken some doing but we finally got a group pic at lunch today!
Slash is dead forest - branches etc. - washed down into river beds by flooding. In this case the slash is natural bamboo debris washed into a channel through mangroves by tidal flow and is essentially harmless. In the recent NZ floods, slash (debris left after clear-felling of pine trees on hills planted 30 years ago to stabilize land unfit for agriculture) has caused massive damage to bridges, roads and farm land in
the recent floods. Slash in that setting is deadly.
A wrist a few seconds after being slashed (with makeup). This was my first try at this type of wound, so I know they don't look totally realistic.
