Legendary guitarist Slash at the beautiful venue - Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland in Kansas City, Missouri last night (Friday, February 25, 2022). Awesome show!!

Traveling up the coastline, we stopped at Te Araroa Beach. The forestry slash was disappointing to see. Lots of debris that should have been addressed when the trees are taken down. Just my opinion.
Mottled and peeling layers of bark of a huge slash pine tree trunk, with deep fissures like a jigsaw puzzle.
The Slash X Ranch near Barstow, CA was founded in 1942 and once ran 3,000 head of cattle. The ranch is now a popular place for OHV riding and racing. It also has a restaurant which was originally opened by the ranch owner for carousing cowboys. A recent review calls it a "top notch biker bar." This old truck is part of the ranching ambience.
Happy Truck Thursday!
Happy Color My World Day - Green
I got to see Slash today! And, a few new residents at Elmwood Park Zoo. The zoo is still closed to the public because of construction -- an in, demolishing old buildings and creating new ones -- but, there was a training opportunity, today, for volunteers. It was nice to see old friends and new ones!
Slash is one of my friends at Elmwood Park Zoo, which is closed through the rest of February. Elmwood has begun a major construction project, thanks to a generous grant. I'm looking forward to seeing Slash, and Elmwood, again in March.
Couldn't resist stopping and taking a quick grab shot of this as we were coming back out of Glen Etive on Sunday morning. I just loved the slash of light on the base of Stob Dearg. A quickie with the cheap but rather lovely Nikon 50mm 1.8D. It was always in my head as a pano crop so to that end its a wee 6:17. Not sure hope it will look on here but I really like it full screen on the 27" Eizo at home. But then again I was breakfasting on a 16 year old Aberlour and a handful of pretzels.
Als ich Sie das erste Mal in meinem Gitarren-Shop sah dachte ich, wow .. die Schwester von Slash! Ja, ok .. sie war es natürlich nicht .. wäre ja auch zu toll! 😁
When I first saw her in my guitar shop I thought, wow... Slash's sister! Yes, OK... of course it wasn't her... that would be too great! 😁

My friend, Judy, posted a shot of a red panda at the Philadelphia Zoo. So, I had to share one of mine. More shots of Slash to come!
Slashing.

Slash lives at the Elmwood Park Zoo, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The Lehigh Valley Zoo expects to be the home to red pandas in the near future. People love red pandas.
I have recently posted photos of Cosmo, one of the red pandas at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. This is Slash, who lives at Elmwood Park Zoo. Slash has made the zoo his home since 2015, the same year I began my volunteer work in photography.
Red pandas live naturally in the bamboo forests of China.
