I had a great day out on my cross-country skis yesterday leaving home at 9.30am I made my way to, Stockton on to the Tees Barage then crossed the river at the Newport Bridge returning on the opposite bank. A lady stopped to photograph me here just over the Jubilee Bridge on Queen Elizabeth Way, Ingleby Barwick, so I asked her to take one of me on my camera. Big smile for a lot of fun.

Earlier on the 22nd February 2014, managed a trip to Birmingham International but this time for a wholely different reason... So, passing the time a 757 which carries the lovely Thomson Dreamliner colours takes off for Chambéry with passengers heading for a skiing holiday.
'Bravo Alpha' was originally to be N558NA for use with National Airlines however the aircraft was never taken up by the airline, so went to leasing company GECAS as N446GE in February 2001 (odd as the leasing company specialise in GE powered aircraft whilst this features Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, and even more odd is that 757's don't even use General Electric engines, rather Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney) and was quickly taken up by Air 2000 in the same month as G-OOBA.
The aircraft has twice been used by Canadian charter airline Skyservice Airlines as C-GUBA in November 2003 and December 2008 respectively before heading back to the UK, this time with First Choice which was originally Air 2000 in April 2004 and March 2009 respectively. By 2009, the 757 was operated by Thomsonfly as First Choice and Thomson merged their airlines which it officially transferred in May 2009. In March 2009, the 757 received blended winglets.
Currently, Thomson operate 16 Boeing 757-200's but one more is likely to join the airline at some point in the near future... A former United Airlines 757 has been chosen to be a 757 'ecoDemonstrator' as a way to not only reduce emissions but also extend the life of the aircraft that is no longer in production. The ecoDemonstrator is currently sporting unbranded Thomson livery.
