Shot with 2 Jessops flash guns, one pointing towards the background behind the shot the other onto a white reflector just of the front left. Both flashguns were set to full power. The off camera flashguns were triggered by a wireless trigger to avoid flash reflections.

I had a couple of stressful days, so I decided to add some color during my lunch break. Good thing I scanned my image at this point, before I added some trees to ruin this drawing.
Once I had worked out how the lobster pots are constructed they got a bit easier to draw. I hadn't realised at the outset how many there are in the pile, I certainly set myself some hard challenges. Drawn with a Pentel 0.5mm pencil on an A4 cartridge paper sketchpad.

Pinstriper and owner of the Sketch Pad, Taz Henschen and the Queen City Draggers always put on great car shows with amazing cars and great bands. This year was no exception.
My grandmother had a Ford coupe like this one. It was a V8 with a stick shift. She was so short that she could barely see out of the windshield. Apparently she enjoyed driving fast, something she probably got from her son, my uncle. Lots of young guys would approach her attempting to buy the car. I know I wouldn't have minded having it.
A sluggish start on another view of a house in Staithes. This one has a view down Staithes Beck to the harbour and a timber balcony. I have been finding it difficult to focus on the drawing, perhaps because I should be doing some other work involving writing. Drawn with a Pentel 0.5mm pencil on an A4 cartridge paper sketchpad.

Ahhh a new full body shot!
I found this adorable backpack and the only one who was cute enough to pull it off was this girl ;u;
Lily was super great to photograph today, it just worked, you know?
I think she is sad that it'll be spring officially in a couple of days. As you can see, she loves to dress cozily. Or, well, partially cozy, partially fashionable, haha.
Hmmm, I've been sick but I haven't used the time on dolls, I've just sorta lived in my bed, under my blanket uvu
Anyway, my mom has ordered me like ten sketchpads (!! ahhh) and a pair of shoes, since my other pair has been stolen/lost/are missing.
It's super weird waiting for a package that isn't dolly-related!
Because of the illness, I've missed out on even more social activities in my class which surely will exclude me further from their community and conversations, yay..
hnng, whatever, I'm gonna go bury myself underneath my blanket with a book now, see you losers later! <3
2022. Koh-I-Noor Triocolor and Polycolor pencils on Daler-Rowney sketchpad 9x12".
Khibiny Tundras is a mountain range located within the Arctic Circle on the Kola Peninsula, Russia.
A short time spent adding some texture to the foreground. In th course of doing this I discovered a small watercourse which I had thought was a shadow from the tree by the pathway I was standing on. It makes more sense of the stonework on the right hand edge of the drawing. These ruins belong to the abbey infirmary complex which was built over several water channels which took the River Skell through latrines and kitchens. It was a tremendous engineering achievement in the early middle ages. Drawn with a Staedtler 0.3mm pencil and Tombow Mono zero eraser in an A4 cartridge paper sketchpad.
This bronze statue honors the renowned Canadian artist Emily Carr, ensuring that Victoria's famous citizen is commemorated in her hometown. The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Victoria commissioned the statue from gifted sculptor Barbara Paterson. The monument features a seated Emily Carr with her sketchpad. Emily's Javanese monkey 'Woo' perches on her shoulder and her dog 'Billie' stands nearby. The statue was erected along Victoria's Harbourfront on the grounds of the Fairmount Empress Hotel was unveiled during Women's History Month in Canada, on October 13th, 2010.

Somewhere around March 2020, there was a 'bonus box' of Tombow art supplies inbetween the monthly boxes. This box contained an HB pencil, a pigment pen & 4 markers that were brush on one end and chisel on the other. I enjoy using brush markers but these failed the light test in a week, so only use them in sketchpads and the like that will be kept closed and away from light - don't even hang on your wall for a month to look at them, some colors fade away completely. It's the same for the Tombow ones that are brush on one end and fine point on the other.
Anyway, here I used the pen and 4 markers, but not the pencil. The purple and blue are very similar in color and value so it almost seems like three colors - but the purple faded way faster so one could fool around with sunning pictures for a couple days to differentiate tones before tucking them away... but not me, I'm just tucking them away.

two people, far before their time, passed this week. were killed. granted, accidents, but they have moved on from this life all the same. i didn't know the boys directly, but they were most certainly in my community: friends-of-friends and such. and it made me think. it's funny how life can be swept away from you so fast.

made me appreciate the fact that i am alive.

I only had my hands on a test version for about fifteen minutes today. But the features are numerous. Including being able to turn your pencil into a watercolor brush, or pencil. Very cool. They are counting down three days to launch now.

Now the abbey church is drawn its time to check the tonal balance so the foreground building doesn't merge with the background. Drawn with a Staedtler Graphic 0.3mm pencil on A4 cartridge paper sketchpad.

The "Paddy Wagon" is a Show Rod designed in 1968 by Tom Daniel, probably the most talented and popular fantasy-car designer of all time.
Tom worked many years for GM and in his spare time he created new “Off the Sketchpad” articles for Rod & Custom magazine. This caught the attention of Monogram’s model shop supervisor, Roger Harney, who got approval to have Daniel create new model designs.
Then, from 1967 through 1975, Tom designed over 75 plastic model kit designs that Monogram manufactured, many of which enjoyed multi-million unit sales.
Among these the "Paddy Wagon" that I recreated via LEGO bricks.
Old-time police wagons were called "Paddy Wagons", probably because most cops in those days were Irish. "Paddy" is slang for "Irish".
Main "Paddy Wagon" features:
- "muscular" chromed blown small-block V-8;
- a "C" cab;
- double windshield (glass for Window 1x6x5);
- chrome gold side horns;
- Good Year drag slicks;
- custom silver stickers;
- older-style drum headlights;
- oval side windows barred;
- a Motometer radiator cap.
This is my third Show Rod, the first I built was the Beer Wagon (from the same designer) and then the Fire Truck (by Chuck Miller). Hope you like it!

Taken at the Queen City Draggers' Tradition Rod and Custom car show held at Quaker Stake and Lube in the Milford suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The car's body had all of the paint removed down to the bare metal. You can see the marks left on the hood's metal by sanding.
An important element of the reconstruction drawing I am working on is to show how fish were put in the smoking chamber. This study is based on a published building in Scotland, helpfully giving an example of how to simplify the depiction of a complex operation. Drawn with a Pentel 0.5mm mechanical pencil on an A4 sketchpad.
