Une revue Arts asiatiques poursuit sous l'égide du Musée Guimet et du Musée Cernuschi la mission que s'était attribuée la Revue des Arts asiatiques, fondée en 1924 et interrompue par la seconde guerre mondiale. Arts asiatiques et publiée sans périodicité, avec des articles de fond, illustrés, sur des questions d'archéologie et d'arts de l'Asie. Une chronique et des comptes-rendus accompagnent ces articles. Les anciens numéros sont mis en ligne (sauf illustrations quand il n'a pas été précisé qu'elles pouvaient être reproduites) sur le portail Persée [1].

When he was alive, my grandfather had a favorite big reclining chair. He would sometimes fall asleep in it, though when he did, he usually had a scowl on his face. Not sure why. Maybe that's just how he slept. Awake, he would never had sit still for me to draw him, so this was the only chance I had.
Found this as I was clearing stuff out, buried in a box full of old papers and receipts.

In my first sketch I wanted to try and stay away from the typical superhero that one would think about with a mask and a cape. Instead I thought about real life superheroes and thought about how people like firefighters would fit this "spectacular feat of strength" because not only do you have to be physically strong, but also mentally. They risk their lives everyday and to me that is a true hero. I did want to tie it into the cereal though so I chose a cow for my firefighter who is spraying milk onto the cereal. The cereal in the bowl with have little fire shaped marshmallows and fire hydrants.
My second sketch dealt with an actual superhero character. I did some research behind a child's favorite animal and one of them that was in the top 10 was a fox and I thought that would be fun to use for this concept. The fox here is showing his super strength by holding a large bowl of cereal over his head.

When I went to St. Louis, I did not bring a camera. Instead, I made sketches and transformed them into very loose, very figurative monotypes done with watercolor on cotton paper. Here is the city cluster and arch as they looked from our fourth floor hotel window.
