a bottle given to us by our hotel hosts in Padua!

Two hours of company-meeting have passed...

I did this sketch when I was 18 years old - that's more than 40 years ago. It was based on a sketch by Peter Paul Rubens of his young son. I found my mom still has it although it's put away for safe keeping but not shown. No idea why.

I wasn't a particularly good artist but I was encouraged to enter it into the art show at the local fall fair & it won first prize. I can see lots of flaws in it.

While I do have some artistic ability, it's funny that my heart isn't in it. I'd rather express my creativity other ways. Perhaps if I'd had some training & had an idea how to use various media, it would've been different. What I wanted to paint or sketch was beyond my knowledge of how to accomplish it.

Any time I've done art pieces that I really liked & was pleased with, I gave them away. Wish I had photos of them at least. I still do some sketching but not much - more like my cats, a flower or leaf, my foot in front of me, stuff like that.

This is Caitlyn Odette. Now *nervous cough* at this point in the left of the picture she is "giving into her addiction to majuana" - KIDS!! SMOKING IS NOT COOL!!! - and yeah in the right of the picture she is scratching her head lol and pretty much high. This is sometimes how her power to control the elements can be activated. And with all the "abiltated" characters in my comic their eyes turn white when they are in control of their powers or have activated their powers - I showed this to a classmate and he thought she was posing in an "erotic way"...she isn't! *smiles*

This cynical side of her aspect cannot last in the big wide world.

So many titles, so many journeys, so many choices . . .

Little doodle for miss lunabee

She likes bees :)

After the first doodle I thought "wait a minute, in real life, bee's cannot be that big", so the second sketch is more accurate :)

A sketch for a project—a telling of my favorite fairy tale, Rumpelstiltskin. Here the little man accuses the miller's daughter of being in cahoots with the devil after she guesses his name.

I'm thinking of entering a new competition. The theme is "Retro Robots". This is my initial sketch of the first possible design.

The lines desperately need cleaning up, but the overall shape and style is what I'm aiming at.

Another watercolor study. This illustration of the human heart is part of a poster that I am silkscreening for an event featuring musicians Tetuzi Akiyama and Jozef van Wissem performing here in Houston on January 30, 2008. This illustration is of a human heart to represent life on this poster.
