Sculpt progress on the Derelict Corridor Diorama - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Still building the surface of the corridor and began to build the opposite wall per the design they used in the production build. The top and bottom sections of the new wall are held with aluminum rods and will be sculpted over and gaps filled with Aves FIXIT sculpt. Unfortunately I ran out of casting material so I'll have to wait to complete the entire casting of the bones needed to finish the build. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎derelict‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎giger‬ ‪#‎biomechanicalart‬ ‪#‎corridor‬ ‪#‎sithfire30

Sculpt update on the Space Jockey - 1:18 scale - ALIEN (79).

Material used - Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Clay

Completed the sculpt of the "control sticks" for each hand, "the interface" and detail along the back of the pilot's chair. I want to tackle the upper rear of the pilot chair before moving onto another project. Been a couple additional weeks than I planned to work on this piece but I'm "in the zone" so to speak and want to continue while not suffering a loss of interest. I'm doing this in my own time and not for a client so I have that luxury.

Crazy to think I look at this piece as becoming an "action figure accessory" or some part of a 1:18 scaled play set. It's where my mindset is...always has been since this ALIEN 79 project started. It just so happens that it's a sculpture study at the same time LOL!

I've taken care to be as accurate as possible to the Giger production version of the doomed pilot but I'm sure a few spots have emerged as "best interpretation" at this point. I'm not looking to be 100% spot on. I don't think anyone who has taken on this project has. I hope those of you who are die hard Space Jockey fans will be forgiving.

The second line of figures I will be sculpting for 2012 will be characters (and creatures) from Ridley Scott's upcoming prequel to the 1979 Alien 0 PROMETHEUS!

Sculpt progress on AVA - Ex Machina - 1/12 scale. Because I'm forever curious, I decided to do some vacuum forming tests of Ava's torso, neck and skull cap. The images you see are the results. Sculpt progress on the Alien Warrior - 1:18 scale - ALIENS 86. Continuing with the sculpt build of the upper torso and I'm happy with how it's turning out. It's a slow process and many have asked why...well,for one, I'm using epoxy that has a four hour cure rate and most significantly I only have a couple hours in the evenings to work on it and even then not every evening...if this was a full time gig the warrior would be completed in no time. More updates to come! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎warrior‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎alienday‬

Completed Jedi Master Luke Skywalker as seen in issue #3 of Star Wars Invasion by Dark Horse Comics. Luke is in command of Republic forces sent to the planet Rychel in order to repel the invading forces of the Yuuzhan Vong.

The figure was mostly sculpted in Aves Epoxy FIXIT sculpt using a plastic articulated armature. The forearms and hands have been recasted from original parts. The head originalted from a Legacy Snowspeeder Luke figure, casted in wax and completly retooled and refined adding additional markings to the face, age lines, a lower brow, hair and ears...I also strengthened the jaw. The figure measures 3.75" in height. Painted using Floyquil Acrylics by testors.

I have completed the sculpt to this version of Starkiller from The Force Unleashed 2 - Arena Combat Gear. Next the figure will be primed then painted. Figure is in 1:18 scale sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt - a two part epoxy. Also includes casted materials and fabric.

Been wanting to get these ladies on the workbench for awhile now :) Hasbro may never produce these two so it's up to us I guess LOL! One will be a bit shorter than the other, the photo doesn't seem to reflect this but rest assured it will be so.

I hope these early images show you how much effort goes into creating these figures - probably the most difficult part of building one of these is the early stages, creating a working armature that will allow the articulation I want as well as support the sculpt work I intend to apply.

Sculpt progress on the Neomorph - 1:18 scale - Alien: Covenant. Completed the initial head sculpt of the beast - open mouth, attack. The next step will be to mold and cast successfully. At that point, I can take a couple quality casts and mod the sculpt to create the other two variants. Began work on the upper torso of the Neomorph - update coming soon.Sculpted using Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Studio LLC.

I am revisiting my ongoing work on an ultimate Darth Vader - this time updating articulation and reworking the helmet. The helmet you see below is the older version - just wanted to show the new updated articulation. The feet come from one of the Halo figures by McFarlane toys. These will of course be "dremeled" down and resculpted. The helmet is going through a complete resculpt...and I'm talkin' complete. I work on one section, mold and cast, then a next phase. So far I've completed the mouth piece, nose and helmet plate. Once the helmet is finalized, I will cast again to begin creating a three piece using the magnets I've spoken of in an earlier entry. I will also be working on a head sculpt of Anakin (Vader).

**UPDATE** - Here are the sisters close to having the frame sculpting completed - I raised the hips on the one and finished sculpting the lower legs on the other. You'll notice that one is slightly shorter than the other...very happy with the differences. Each a unique figure.

Here are the Tonnika Sisters completed head sculpts - both hair styles differ as was in the movie. I will complete the body sculpt and begin working on the costume details. I am also rolling around the idea of doing two additional head sculpts of the sisters as one appeared in the Clone Wars animated program - just an image shown briefly in the jedi library but with a hair style much different to what is seen in A New Hope.

Sculpt progress on "The Alien" as seen in the Creative Assembly game release, Alien: Isolation. 1:18 scale. Using cast parts from my existing beast (alien 79) I am modifying the articulation, parts of the sculpt and will be creating new lower legs for the creature. The legs will not be as articulated as the former Big Chap but I'm not bothered by it. The head is also in the midst of some slight modification and I have created a ball socket in the neck to allow the head to lay farther back as it's form resembles more of a crouched, "dinosaur-like" creature than that of it's cousin. More to come. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎alienisolation‬ ‪#‎creativeassembly‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎Sevastopol‬ ‪#‎Amandaripley‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬

The first of two semi-static posed figures of the creature from the 1979 film, Alien. Hand sculpted, hand painted. This version depicts the beast as it would have appeared in several promotional test shots during pre-production, the air duct scene where Captain Dallas met his end as well as a deleted scene appearing within the corridor while Parker and Lambert were making their desperate escape.

Figure is approx. 3" high from highest point on head to the feet. Articulated neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists. Vacuum formed PETG dome is removable.

Original was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, a two part epoxy. Parts were cast in resin and assembled to build this version. Used Model Masters Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics.

The long tail of the beast - Alien: Isolation - :18 scale. Assembling and sculpting the alien from the Creative Assembly game. The tail is twice as long as the 79 beastie - just took the original tail and doubled the length. Currently it is hard plastic...hope to make a bendy tail from it soon. Ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, hips, knees etc.....similar to the 79 Alien I'm finishing up. Sculpting the new lower legs that are similar to the runner (dog) alien in Alien3 so it's a good introduction to what awaits me when I continue to build that particular beast. As always, I take more image than is needed - just love working with this fellow lol! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎alienisolation‬ ‪#‎creativeassembly‬ ‪#‎bigchap‬ ‪#‎giger‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬ ‪#‎nostromo

My 1:18 scale, 4.5" tall Furlag sculpt is complete. The head is a completly original sculpt. The figures body is also original and is sculpted over a custom created, articluated frame. I used Aves FIXIT for the sculpt and casted the head in plastic. Furlag has 14 points of articulation. Hand painted using Testors Polyscale (Floquil) acrylic paints. A very unique species in the Star Wars universe...

From Wookipedia - "Furlag was a small-time bounty hunter with large, batlike ears. Operating during the height of the Galactic Empire, he was not well-known, but often worked with other prominent bounty hunters, such as Zuckuss and 4-LOM. He, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM were subcontracted by fellow hunter Skorr on Ord Mantell during the early Galactic Civil War in the hunt for a group of prospective Rebels, then again later with 4-LOM and Zuckuss as well as several other bounty hunters including the Trandoshan Bossk to attempt to pry Han Solo's carbonite-encased body from Boba Fett."

Unfortunately Furlag underestimated Boba Fett and met his end being sucked through and open airlock shaft into deep space.

Work in Progress on the body of Starkiller in his Arena Combat Gear - the costume mostly associated with this character in The Force Unleashed 2. Working is the upper body, abdomen, shoulders, arms and body armor. The body armor seen here is a clay shell sculpted and refined to resemble the shape of the armor, with additional layers of detail added. I am almost complete with this section of the armor and will add the smaller shoulder guard soon.

The early framework of my Darth Malgus figure - this is two different store bought figures assembled together then reduced down to form a working plastic armature. Malgus will appear as he did from both Old republic theatrical trailers - He will include two alternate head sculpts. I am working on a trio of Imperial Troopers to go along with him :)
