Additional images on my workup of AVA's frame - Ex Machina - 1:12 scale. First some "likeness tests" as I like to call them - it's a helpful tool to overlay images of the subject I am sculpting (in this case, Alicia Vikander) to make sure proportions are correct. It doesn't always help with the shapes as much as it has to do with spacing of the eyed, ears and mouth. Additional image are of the head and body frame as both have been modified. The body has been reduced once again to make way for the sculpt work. I plan on sculpting the actress as she appears on set in her bodysuit....then on the backend, separate the parts and begin construction the skeletal parts as well as the transparent dome, arms, legs and torso. For now I am working on a few other projects in the 1:18 scale. ‪#‎ava‬ ‪#‎meetava‬ ‪#‎exmachina‬ ‪#‎sithfire30‬ ‪#‎AliciaVikander‬

My 1:18 scale, 4.5" tall Furlag sculpt is complete. The head is a completly original sculpt. The figures body is also original and is sculpted over a custom created, articluated frame. I used Aves FIXIT for the sculpt and casted the head in plastic. Furlag has 14 points of articulation. Hand painted using Testors Polyscale (Floquil) acrylic paints. A very unique species in the Star Wars universe...

From Wookipedia - "Furlag was a small-time bounty hunter with large, batlike ears. Operating during the height of the Galactic Empire, he was not well-known, but often worked with other prominent bounty hunters, such as Zuckuss and 4-LOM. He, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM were subcontracted by fellow hunter Skorr on Ord Mantell during the early Galactic Civil War in the hunt for a group of prospective Rebels, then again later with 4-LOM and Zuckuss as well as several other bounty hunters including the Trandoshan Bossk to attempt to pry Han Solo's carbonite-encased body from Boba Fett."

Unfortunately Furlag underestimated Boba Fett and met his end being sucked through and open airlock shaft into deep space.

Progress on the Translucent Alien Concept variant - Alien 79 - 1:18 scale. I have all the pieces of the beast cast in clear resin - Smooth-on Crystal Clear 200. Painted the head and torso - Still a work in progress as I paint and piece each piece together. Unfortunately I'm loosing some of the translucence via the paint process..I may revisit the casting again using a milky white pigment alone and simply add a wash to the body. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎translucent‬ ‪#‎painting‬

The beginning frame & very early head sculpt of Satele Shan from SW: Old Republic. The head sculpt is a casting of an early sculpt for Sian Jeisel before moding is with a fur texture and a heavier brow. Will add ears/hair, then work up a painted head sculpt soon. The figure will represent Shan's appearance in the"Return" cinematic trailer with an alternate headsculpt from the "Hope" trailer. youtu.be/iXPgZ3DWc5E

Sculpt progress on the Space Jockey - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Began sculpting the arms of the creature using Aves FIXIT s my sculpting material. Sharp/clean areas will be weathered, softened. The next step will be the shoulders, body and upper back portaion of the chair. Hands will be last before moving on to the rest of the piece. More to come! Figure and diorama updates to come as well - just wanting to get a good chunk of this guy completed. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎spacejockey‬ ‪#‎hrgiger‬ ‪#‎lv426‬ ‪#‎derelict‬ ‪#‎avesfixitsculpt‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎diorama‬

I have completed the sculpt to this version of Starkiller from The Force Unleashed 2 - Arena Combat Gear. Next the figure will be primed then painted. Figure is in 1:18 scale sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt - a two part epoxy. Also includes casted materials and fabric.

Additional sculpt progress - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Nostromo fashion - tees and flight Jacket wear. Completed the two upper torsos for Kane and Dallas. Sculpted the watches. The figure frame for AVA is complete - Ex Machina - 1:12 scale. Now sculpting can begin by adding detail from head to toe as the sculpt with represent the body suit Alicia Vikander wore during the production (step one). I attached articulated feet to the figure which I can begin sculpting over. I have also sculpted over (blocked out) the lower abdominal articulation This will be brought back later in the build as I become more aware of the articulation points I can add when the internal machinery is made. ‪#‎exmachina‬ ‪#‎meetava‬ ‪#‎ava‬ ‪#‎A24‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬

Completed the sculpt work on my first version of Roy Batty - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale. Like the Deckard figure posted earlier, had to go back and make some adjustments to the mid-torso cut, shoulders and elbows. Aves FIXIT is a brilliant product but is unforgiving once cured!

Completed the sculpt of the coat and gave the figure a little more in the height department. More work on Batty to come - I imagine a few more versions of him I would like to do...#roybatty #bladerunner #replicant #rutgerhauer

Wolf's head sculpt originates from the concept images from issue 1 of Legacy. - Wolf Sazen completed sculpt...well, almost. I need to tweek the armless sleeve. Wolf only has one arm, the other was taken by a Sith blade. Right now the upper part of the sleeve looks fine but the bottom part still looks a bot heavy/full. He will have an alternate head sculpt with his hair pinned back. I will be doing a second version of Wold with his new arm and flight suit.

Sculpt/Build update of the "Crabwalking" Alien - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. This figure is inspired by a deleted scene for the 1979 Sir Ridley Scott film - ALIEN. You'll understand the figure more if you take a moment to check out the deleted scene - youtu.be/eR5jYeIMBKk

Finished the build yesterday. The final figure has better articulation than originally expected. I can actually pose the figure from a "crawl" to a "rising" position which is a plus since I originally conceived the idea of the figure being a static posed piece. An unpainted resin piece, using revoltech joints in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, upper legs, knees and ankles. The tail is held by a magnet, is static (hard plastic) and comes in three positions: curled, unfurling and straight. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎deletedscene‬ ‪#‎lambert‬ ‪#‎crabwalking‬ ‪#‎giger‬ ‪#‎creepy‬ ‪#‎figure‬ ‪#‎art‬ ‪#‎sculpt‬

Straying from the path he has sturggled to hold true, Dass Jennir arrives on Telerath. Unbeknownst to Jennir, his destiny with the living force is about to be revealed and his burdened conscience wiped clean....

Dass Jennir is a favorite character of mine from the Star Wars Dark Horse Expanded Universe.

My apologies for taking so long to complete this piece...as with all my work, I never center my full attention on just one project, always a bit at a time, tabling and returning to the subject when the inspiration hits.

This is a 1:18th scale figure - fully articulated with all the basic movements and can be posed in many postions like other factory made figures...mostly when his cowl is removed.

Both figures sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and painted using Floyquil Acrylics.

The first of two semi-static posed figures of the creature from the 1979 film, Alien. Hand sculpted, hand painted. This version depicts the beast as it would have appeared in several promotional test shots during pre-production, the air duct scene where Captain Dallas met his end as well as a deleted scene appearing within the corridor while Parker and Lambert were making their desperate escape.

Figure is approx. 3" high from highest point on head to the feet. Articulated neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists. Vacuum formed PETG dome is removable.

Original was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, a two part epoxy. Parts were cast in resin and assembled to build this version. Used Model Masters Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics.

Nostromo Build Update - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Update to the Ladderwell and Ladder. So I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the ladderwell build. I'm having to clean up seam lines, block in interiors all before molding and casting the piece. Just fused two pieces of sheet styrene together, plotted cut lines and with the help of my dremel tool, and xacto blade and sandpaper I have a pretty sturdy ladder which holds the custom figures quite well. Sculpt progress on "The Alien" as seen in the Creative Assembly game release, Alien: Isolation. 1:18 scale. Using cast parts from my existing beast (alien 79) I am modifying the articulation, parts of the sculpt and will be creating new lower legs for the creature. The legs will not be as articulated as the former Big Chap but I'm not bothered by it. The head is also in the midst of some slight modification and I have created a ball socket in the neck to allow the head to lay farther back as it's form resembles more of a crouched, "dinosaur-like" creature than that of it's cousin. More to come. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎alienisolation‬ ‪#‎creativeassembly‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎Sevastopol‬ ‪#‎Amandaripley‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬

Sculpt progress on the Neomorph - 1:18 scale - Alien: Covenant. Completed the initial head sculpt of the beast - open mouth, attack. The next step will be to mold and cast successfully. Much more detail to the head this week - also worked on the upper arms. I feel the detail is going to be enormous with this figure once completed...and with a full range of articulation? Awesome! I'm looking forward to beginning the chest cavity.

However, many revisions need to take place before I am satisfied but I feel I am heading in the right direction. All Hail FIXIT SCULPT! I couldn't do this type of detail at this scale without it!

I hope these early images show you how much effort goes into creating these figures - probably the most difficult part of building one of these is the early stages, creating a working armature that will allow the articulation I want as well as support the sculpt work I intend to apply.
