$6 million, 10,500 sf ground-up construction of a new chapel and meeting area; scope of work included sitework, landscaping, limestone and granite veneers imported from Jerusalem, structural steel, fritted glass wall, slate roof, millwork, ceramic tile, wood flooring, and acoustical ceilings

Truck 177, a Peterbilt 330 belonging to Pioneer Sand Company. Not sure about the specs on this one, but the motor appears to be smaller than the Cat C10s in trucks 130 and 129, and it turns about 2000 RPMs at 60 MPH.. so it's geared more like a sitework truck, but isn't powered like one. Not to mention that the cab is a bit on the cramped side, with the turn signal lever perfectly positioned to be bumped by my right knee whenever I use the clutch, and the snowplow control positioned perfectly to be bumped by my right knee quite often.

so, all of this latest upload is taken from a recently cleared site.

the Lantana bushes (declared noxious weed, therefore the manager is legally bound to eradicate) were killed with roundup brashing, a technique quite effective, which basically consist of 'painting' a few branches of the bush with one of the most potent poison out there, the Monsanto's Roundup (the main active ingredient is glyphosate).

We dont wonna go Monsanto's way, but take back the focus on those species, basically after the lantana was killed and ripped out of the dirt a number of regeneration species (natives have been planted, some survived some not, but all around them a new set of pioneer came in to help heal the land, like inkweed, nettle, thistle, dock etc..

Taking the theme of circulation, mobility and change from Christine Bourdette’s artwork for the Totem Lake Freeway Station project, artist Vicki Scuri has created a patterned abstraction of leaf and seed forms that relates to the motion of travel, to the motion of water, and the currents of air.

Project Description:

Complete siteworks include clear and grubbing, rock blasting, large steel and HDPE pipe installation.

Plant includes 500,000 gallons concrete clearwell, 4 filter cells – 107,000 sq. ft., a separate Chlorination Building, as well as a Control Valve Building.

Construction of the WWTP included diverting a creek , which ran directly through the site. All environmental work had to meet strict DFO standards.

The Westpro Advantage:

All earthworks were coordinated on a very confined site and executed with Westpro forces.

The 20,000 m3 of filter sand was screened and washed on site to alleviate costly and time consuming trucking off and back to site.

Project Description:

This secondary school includes metal and built up roofing systems, masonry, stucco and metal panel exteriors, irrigated playfields concrete paved courtyards, gymnasiums, cafeteria, library, technical shops, computer and science labs.

The work included extensive sitework, clearing and grubbing and off site services.

The Westpro Advantage:

Our ability to handle the complete range of requirements for the project, excavating, sewer, water and interior architectural finishing, ensured that the work was completed in the expected and required time frame.
