The Home Office and the Lord Chancellors Office had a role in censoring publications, and in 1936 the publication The Single Woman and Her Emotional Problems came under question for “passages relating to lesbian practices”. This follows on from the famous trail around Radclyffe Hall’s The Well of Loneliness in the late 1920s.

Nearest the camera is Arriva Merseyside 6005, SM15HWB, a Wrightbus StreetLite Max DF Micro Hybrid 11.5m. It was new to Arriva Merseyside in 08/2015. Alongside is preserved Crosville CSG655, 904OFM, a coach seated ECW bodied Bristol SC4LK. It was new to Crosville in 05/1960 © Peter Steel 2022.

Starting and finishing at the Longshaw Estate and going along White Edge, Curbar and Froggatt Edges too..

Lunch at Grindleford Station cafe.. Then back to Longshaw via Padley Gorge..
