Went to the Otter Bookbinding class this last weekend at the Southern Bookbinders workshop at Winchester and made this single section book.
Will it be good enough for a Level 1 City and Guilds?
Obviously it is a single cherry blossom. But more significantly, that this was the only blossom and only signs of life on the tree. The rest of tree had past to the other side. This blossom was its last hope.

Salty wooden stumps come and go across the still waters of a spring fed lake in a remote corner of Death Valley National Park, far away from any current example of civilization.
defaultThe bustling Port of Echuca is recognised as one of Australia’s finest heritage icons.
Built in 1865 by the Victorian Railways, the Port of Echuca Wharf was crucial to Echuca’s development. For many years, Echuca was the main shipbuilding centre for the river transport industry. Some of the boats built in Echuca, such as the PS Adelaide, still operate on the Murray River today. At its peak, Echuca supported 8 sawmills and turned over up to 240 paddlesteamers a year.

One hand for the tiller ; one for the camera.
It needs repair (broken valves and missing stems) and has no mouthpiece, but I couldn't pass it up when I saw at a booth at the Petticoats on the Prairie "Under the Big Top" Vendor Show, held at the historic Chautauqua Building in Waxahachie, Texas.
It is a small horn, with patina and small dings, but so pretty! We don't own the French Horn my daughter plays at school because of the expense.
I will add lace streamers and fill the bell with flowers in the school colors for my daughter's high school and use the horn as a table centerpiece.
For this photo, I used two textures from the wonderful Textures for Layers group on Flickr to add more shine and age.

I've been looking for a suitable location to shoot this shot for years. Found it 5 minutes from home.
Look what arrived in my mailbox today?! Yes, that's right, the gorgeous single girl pillow that Angela made! And! It's made from vintage sheets that I sent Angela in December in a swap! How cool is that?
On top of that, one of her beautiful crochet stars!
Thank you dear, I seriously love it! And can you believe 2 out of the 3 pillow-forms I have are 24"? Match made in heaven!
My first day out- Muskingum River Marietta, Ohio.
This is my beautiful German shell, ELISHA, built in the late '40s or early 1950s. It was rebuilt in Philadelphia in the early 1970s with new stainless steel riggers, oarlocks, decks, foot stretchers, added rib supports and a Stampfli seat. The oars shown here are Stampfli 296s.
I purchased this boat from Ralph Lindamood, longtime coach of Marietta College, in the late 1970s. Ralph's son Norm used this quite a bit and won several medals in it. When Norm 'outgrew' the boat Ralph was lending it to college lightweights but was afraid that it would get damaged and offered it to me.
