On Oct. 4, Senator Gabbard joined over 1,000 men and women who participated in the 24th Annual Men's March Against Violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, making the timing of the march a perfect opportunity to address the issue of violence that impacts our families, neighborhoods, communities, and islands. The event started in the Hawaii State Capitol Rotund at 11:45am, with a remembrance ceremony for the lives lost to domestic violence this past year. (Sen. Gabbard is pictured on the front page of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Friday, Oct. 5).
The community then marched downtown culminating with a rally at Iolani Palace. This annual event is an opportunity for men to demonstrate to the community their commitment to ending domestic violence and pass on a message of peace to the younger generation. To our knowledge, The Men’s March Against Domestic Violence in Honolulu is the only, and certainly the longest running annual, public men’s event regarding domestic violence in the U.S.

Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, Noss Head Caithness, Scotland, Photographed on 13 July 2008, during renovation. The castle was held by Clan Sinclair since the late 14th century. The Sinclairs are well embedded in Scottish history throughout the centuries.

I don't know if we were having a drought, or a warm spurt in the fall when they let the water down for people to work on their docks. That's me in the foreground, sitting in my folding chair. We still have that chair, and now Rollie and Tiller sit in it. But now, the neighbor's dock is gone, and there are more houses in the background. Sinclair, 1976.
After 47 years of playing the Sinclair bagpipes my Mom & Dad bought for me in Pine Falls, I had them updated with some David Davidse hand engraved aluminum fittings and had everything installed by our local expert machinist Mike McDonald who also made the imitation ivory projecting mounts.
It is not certain the dating of any version of these seals. This is what has been found. The images beg at least one clean up project to render a good copy. We know at the very least, the family was Sinclair, St. Clair or Sinkler. I think I have some history stashed somewhere. I will look.
