I was recently by this place and someone has removed the gas pump (I suspect it was probably stolen)
I have this in my "things now gone" set... this refers to the pump, not the building.

Wang Dongni v Christine Sinclair
Around 50 years ago, I used to work for Sir Clive Sinclair's company (I recently shared a picture of the C5) but the Micromatic "matchbox" radio was around from 1967. Mine dates from 1972-1975, when I was working in his accounts department!
No speaker, just listen via an earphone. I've lost the back (which means I can see the electronics) but it used to work well - particularly if placed near a phone, which would magnify the sound, especially when I was on switchboard duty: the switchboard was huge, with 200 extensions (but too modern for the old post and wire - that was my previous firm).

The Knight's Move: lectures in 2011
‘The Knight's Move' is an annual series of lectures by eminent international speakers who stand out by their unusual, enlightening and inspirational visions concerning the city, urbanity, the public domain, and community. Just as the knight moves in an atypical and unusual way across the chessboard, Stroom Den Haag likewise wants to cut across all disciplines and thus stimulate rethinking the city.

Iain Sinclair is a British author and filmmaker whose work is rooted in London and is related to psychogeography. Psychogeography is the study of the effects of the geographical environment on the emotions and behavior of individuals. It was first introduced by Guy Debord in the 1950s and is also described as the science of wandering and exploring. Books by Sinclair include 'London: City of Disappearances' (2006), 'Liquid City' (1999, with Marc Atkins) and 'London Orbital' (2002).
Got hit with a basketball.
Beyonce is also Leni Sinclair's granddaughter if you didn't put 2 and 2 together.
Upton Sinclair lived in Monrovia from 1942 -1966. We have many, but not all, of his books. This cabinet also houses a Brete Harte collection.

Whenever Sinclair got a touch on the ball and hunched her shoulders to get a full head of steam you could hear the fear in the crowd.
