I first spotted his resurrected Sinclair station purely by chance back in 2007 when I decided to check out Paris Springs. This place was the last thing I expected to see!
When I stopped by again in 2008 I got to meet the man himself. Then in 2009 we spent 2.5 shooting the breeze after I stopped to admire his new neon.
I felt like I should have had a tape recorder running, the stories this man can tell deserve to be preserved.
Congratulations, Gary, your place is putting a smile on the faces of 66 fans everywhere :)

Saute your spirit and frappe your friends' spirit animals Saturday night, August 8th, at Sinclair. DJ Nick Fresh voltrons himself with the wheels of steel creating an unearthly figure-4-leg-lock-of-FUNK. Chicken & Whiskey put the dirtbag alcoholic back in dirtbag alcoholic pop. After the Bomb, Baby! sets off bug bombs of bad-boi beats until you go "Oh no. Rrrrrraaaaaaaiid!"
Open wide your overworked sass hole to receive FREE FRIED CHICKEN plus FREE KENTUCKY BOURBON WHISKEY. Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says: "There will be so much whiskey flowing, you should probably just go ahead and get in a fight with a police outside or wear one of those big Kentucky Derby hats and no bra, cuz the night will be ripped asunder and acid and vitamins shall pour forth from the tip of the Bank of America Tower gleaming the domes and parenthesizing the doom of all in attendance." Holy crap!

I was recently by this place and someone has removed the gas pump (I suspect it was probably stolen)
I have this in my "things now gone" set... this refers to the pump, not the building.

The Knight's Move: lectures in 2011
‘The Knight's Move' is an annual series of lectures by eminent international speakers who stand out by their unusual, enlightening and inspirational visions concerning the city, urbanity, the public domain, and community. Just as the knight moves in an atypical and unusual way across the chessboard, Stroom Den Haag likewise wants to cut across all disciplines and thus stimulate rethinking the city.
