Simplicity
Antoine de Saint-Exupery: “Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away”.
Let´s keep it simple? What do you think???

‘Ανδρος – Κυκλάδων: Όλη αυτή η γη, που τη θαυμάζεις από ψηλά έχει στα χώματα της άγια ονόματα, θυσίες, κόπους και σκληρούς αγώνες για να κρατηθεί η γη με μαλτεζόπετρες στις πλαγιές των στημάτων ................................................Andros – Cyclades -Greece: All this earth, that you admire from above has in its soil holy names, sacrifices, labors and hard struggles to keep the land with stones (maltezopetres) on the slopes……

Taken at Katwijk, the Netherlands
1/50th sec, f8, ISO100, 24 mm, tripod, polarizer, remote.
I love the serene quietness in this image, its simplicity and almost zen-garden-like quality make me pause and admire nature and creation. It almost conveys the japanese aesthetic principle of Wabi & Sabi loosely translated as; simplicity and and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects

Sometimes we look too hard for an image, the "perfect" photo, only to find, when we get home, that the "throw-away," the mindless pic we took as an after-thought, is our Best of the Day.

The falls at West Burton.
It was around 3 degrees Celsius when we arrived to find a man getting out of the water after his morning wake up swim. Brave.
Advanced warning...a few more to follow of this welcoming place, none of the man swimming however :)
Thanks in advance for any comments or favourites you may wish to make.
Thanks in advance
I feel, overall, it’s simplicity I enjoy most in images. A few years ago I would probably have said light, what we call great light in fact. However, as much of the works I admire from others doesn’t always have that magical light, which no doubt lifts the spirits, it comes back to the simple composition. This, I find myself constantly seeking that simplicity myself.
