Sea fades into sky with almost no visible horizon.
Long exposure of waves lapping around rocks (sandstone conglomerate, maybe others) at the base of the cliff below Dunnottar Castle on a dreich grey overcast morning.
A combination of HDR and pixel-shift to enhance the already mdoerately long exposure, balance tones, eliminate noise and increase resolution.

I love the serene quietness in this image, its simplicity and almost zen-garden-like quality make me pause and admire nature and creation. It almost conveys the japanese aesthetic principle of Wabi & Sabi loosely translated as; simplicity and and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects

“As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.” ~ Sam Abell
I felt like simplicity and minimalism today. The background is a texture from Sh4un65, which I then tweaked a bit here and there. See first comment for the link.

Life you had, is the life we have
The time you were, is the time we are
Simplicity of life which we are enjoying, is what you lost.
