I like this photo because of the simple expression of the boy. When I was taking pictures of other subjects then he came to me and requested to take a snap of him. I took and share the preview, the joy was limitless. Previously I have uploaded the color version, now I am trying black and white portrait.
Spring is coming fast here in Australia (well it is here by calender but not by temperature). Anyway, bring it on.

this season, we see the word joy everywhere but holiday joy is a hard thing to force to happen. i know in my own life the word joy sometimes seemed like a mean command when times seemed grim.
i much prefer simple joy, the kind that passes through every day, available to all of us. it might come from the perfect hot drink, an unexpected call from someone I've been missing, a friendly checkout clerk at a gas station, the feeling of sunshine on my face after it's been cloudy for days or enjoying a quick laugh over lunch.
it can be the happiness in giving a dog a bone.
i love how the simple is always good enough for dogs. they get excited without reservation. mercy barks while cookie runs in a circle when we announce that it's dog bone time.
in this photo, mercy looks eagerly on for her treat while cookie eats first. (don't worry, mercy got a goodie too)

Got a new piece of glass last week so I decided to take it out to "The Village" on Wexford Street to see Simple Kid wearing a fancy pancho. Not an easy task to cheer up a Dublin crowd after what just happened at the Athens Olympic Stadium but he just did it ! To see the few I save from an hundred check out this set. Have a nice WE !!!
