Whenever I don't know what to do, and am determined that I need to do something, anything, just to get back in the groove, I do something simple... I found my pile of bits set aside for my soft book, and whilst rooting through it, sorting the bits, I came upon two small strips of paper and one of lace. The one on the left is less than 1/8" at it's midst so fiddly doesn't begin to describe what it was like to couch down but I'm glad I persevered. They reside on a page of soft and flexible Japanese paper in an off-white, almost creamy colour with a finer gauze-type of Japanese paper layered on top.
And as for this ones, I used the traditional plain recipe for cupcakes. I just needed to practice on making cupcakes before I move on to baking flavoured ones. The second batch came out perfect than the first ones- which overflowed.

Was working on the roof, plugging an overlooked hole in an out of the way spot under an eave to keep the monsoon rains out.
It was hard to believe I could be on the roof in June working while enjoying a pleasant breeze, much less seeing a cloud in the sky this time of year.
This would have been a nice distant shot of the White Tanks if our neighbors to the northwest did not have such large trees. Oh well, thick shade easily outweighs a nice view this time of year.
So I saw a picture that Jorge uploaded about bookmarks, stating that he's seen all of the bookmarks that mark a page, but he wanted one that marked a line. So I thought "okay something that sticks out for the page with something pointy on top. What better than a fishbase?" And here is the final solution.
St Mary Magdalene's at Crowmarsh Gifford is a simple, mainly 12th century structure consisting of nave, chancel and north transept. The west doorway and other features still betray their Norman origin, though the font looks more like a more recent pastiche to me.
Inside the most notable fittings are the stained glass windows, an interesting selection including three collages of fragments (medieval English and 16th century Flemish glass) in the north transept.
The more recent glass includes a stunning west window, 'The Reaper' by Archibald J.Davies from 1924. Also by Davies the simple lancet of St Nicholas nearby. There is also an intriguing memorial window of St Monica by an unknown artist c1955.
The church is normally kept locked.
