Saint Simon the Apostle, also called Simon the Zealot, (flourished 1st century AD—died, Persia or Edessa, Greece?; Western feast day October 28, Eastern feast day June 19), one of the Twelve Apostles. In the Gospels of Mark and Matthew, he bears the epithet Kananaios, or the Cananaean, often wrongly interpreted to mean “from Cana” or “from Canaan.” Kananaios is the Greek transliteration of an Aramaic word, qanʾ anaya, meaning “the Zealot,” the title given him by Luke in his Gospel and in Acts. It is uncertain whether he was one of the group of Zealots, the Jewish nationalistic party before AD 70. Apparently the titles may have been an attempt to distinguish him from the apostle St. Simon Peter. In St. Matthew's Gospel, we read of St. Simon or Simeon who is described as one of our Lord's brethren or kinsmen. His father was Cleophas, St. Joseph's brother, and his mother, according to some writers, was our Lady's sister. He would therefore be our Lord's first cousin and is supposed to have been about eight years older than He. No doubt he is one of those brethren of Christ who are mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as having received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. St. Epiphanius says that when the Jews massacred St. James the Lesser, his brother Simeon upbraided them for their cruelty. The apostles and disciples afterwards met together to appoint a successor to James as bishop of Jerusalem, and they unanimously chose Simeon, who had probably assisted his brother in the government of that church. In the year 66 civil war broke out in Palestine, as a consequence of Jewish opposition to the Romans. The Christians in Jerusalem were warned of the impending destruction of the city and appear to have been divinely ordered to leave it.
William Simons Mills was born 29 Oct 1820 in Johnson, Lamoille County, Vermont to Clark McKeen Mills (1787-1864) and Lucy Olds (1791-1872). In May 1853, William married Sarah Marie Nettleton (1826-1903) in Delaware, OH. William and Sarah had 3 children: Leof (1855-1910), Lyra (1856-1932) and Flynt William (1859-1950). William was a real estate man and he would move the family every few years. They were in Chicago in the 1870's. On 3 Sep 1896, William passed away in Saratoga, Santa Clara County, CA.

Simon's Cat is an animated cartoon series by the English animator Simon Tofield featuring a hungry house cat who uses increasingly heavy-handed tactics to get its owner to feed it.
In January 2009, it was announced that Simon's Cat would be published in book format. Canongate released the title on 1st October 2009 in the United Kingdom. It was later released in many other countries.

The Norton Simon Museum is an art museum located in Pasadena, California, USA. It was previously known by other names, including the Pasadena Art Institute and the Pasadena Art Museum.
The Simon collections include European paintings, sculpture, tapestry and remarkable sculpture from South Asia. Outside gardens house sculpture and a pond.
The Norton Simon Museum contains a wide permanent collection of paintings from the 14th century to the 20th, and it is highly considered. It hosts temporary exhibitions that can treat of a given painter (e.g., "Picasso's Toros"), art movements (avant-garde) or art developed in a specific area (often located in Asia, e.g., "Sacred Treasures from Tibet, Nepal and Northern India").
The 19th century is well-represented, and paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Gustave Courbet, Henri Fantin-Latour, Paul Cézanne and most of the Impressionists are shown. There are a great number of sculptures and paintings by Edgar Degas.

I adopted him from the rescue run by the obedience school I worked at over the summer. He was picked up on the streets of Dallas by Animal Control and was plucked up from 'death row' just in the nick of time.
