Sneaking into and funking up the cultural heart of Toronto, Manifesto Festival of Culture and Community has been toiling away in preparation for a three floor exhibition that will literally spill out the door, into the street and on to the walls of 52 McCaul St. The exhibition will include a work residency by Nunca from Brazil (Sept. 18-28.) Hailing from Sao Paulo, Nunca recently headlined the blockbuster ‘Street Art’ at the Tate Modern (London, UK.) Matching top international talent the best Montreal has to offer, Nunca will be joined by the infamous street artist Roadsworth -- the subject of a recent NFB documentary (screening at the Drake Hotel, 4:30pm Sept 18th.)
Inside the building, Floor 1 will be the ‘Rise Art Auction for Youthlink,’ presented by Well and Good with 100% of proceeds going to a charity devoted to underserved youth in Toronto. The Rise Auction will wind up on Nuit Blanche. Floor 2, ‘The Studio’ managed/curated by Joshua Brandt of Whippersnapper Gallery will consist of work residencies by several local and national artists who will turn the space into a constantly evolving group work. Devon Ostrom, Visual Arts Director of Manifesto says that, “the value of festivals in the development of Canadian art is that they bring a diversity of artists together to learn from each other, exchange skills and build networks. The idea of floor 2, The Studio is to extend this into a month long process – and one that the public can watch unfold.“
Floor 3, supporting the development of emerging curators; Charlie Irani and Teresa Aversa of Charlie’s Gallery will transform the space with a world of installations created specifically for the show.

Today I bring you a 100% mesh staff that comes with a static version (no combat scripts) and a sheath/drawn dual version with simple DTR weapon scripts, gestures for drawing and sheathing and a color HUD for changing the color of the crystal itself. Also contained within are instructions on how to use this, and each version of the staff is copy and mod so that you may make changes as you please!

Dejan Stojanović: Znak i njegova deca (The Sign and Its Children), Back Cover, 2000
ZNAKOVI SMISLA
Središnja, ključna misao vodilja treće knjige pesama Dejana Stojanovića potpuno je obelodanjena u uvodnoj prilog pesmi "Nadnebni znak" kojom se otvara zbirka "Znak i njegova deca." Poput terazija, na jednom njenom tasu je misao sa težinom spoznaje tajne novog vida praiskona, odnosno njegovog, u svemu začetnog, znaka zametnutog u vaseljenskom vrtlogu. Pesma "Nadnebni znak" je kao belutak bačen u središte vode bezdane, odakle je ko zna kad i kako do kopna, do svetlosti, ili do dlana izronio. Nakon ponovnog dospeća do dna, odakle će samo svetlosnim zracima da se oglašava , javiće se između obala korica knjige pet koncentričnih krugova imenovanih kao "Vrhovni znak", "Znak i ništa", "Lice znaka", Reč i znak" i "Znak i san", Poslednji, prividno najmanji, ali koji podlokava i razdire sve dubine Nevremora koje se igra tlom zemaljskim. Kako u prvom, tako i u svim potonjim poetskim krugovima, osim pojma Znak kojeg pesnik uvek ispisuje velikim slovom, javlja se i drugi, takođe sa značenjem "Oblikotvornog prauzroka sveta kojeg preispituje pesnikova ezoterična radoznalost" (zapažanje recenzenta Petra V. Arbutine). Reč je o Zraku sa ne samo metaforičkim značenjem graditelja i rusitelja. Zrak je, po Stojanoviću, "osmeh praznine", a "Praznina koja se smeje / Probuđeni je znak".
U drugom ciklusu, "Znak i nista", u središtu filozofsko-poetske opservacije jeste pojam ništavila ili nule. I nije reč o bezizlazu, jer "Ništa je postojano samo dok Znak spava". U ništa se i Vrhovni Znak pretvara, i to u trenu kada je najmoćniji. Bitno je istaći onu primarnu odrednicu kojom se Dejan Stojanović izdvaja iz mnoštva pesnika ne samo svoje generacije. Njegov lirski koncept, kojeg iz knjige u knjigu neprestano dograđuje, zasnovan je na kosmonizmu, filozofskom pogledu na svet, koji na vasionu, zajedno sa čovekom i svim sto je čovecansko, gleda kao na jedno veliko jedinstvo i celinu, a na duh kao na ogledanje vasione. Hipoteze Kanta i Laplasa o postanku sunčevog sistema, kosmogonija, a posebno ono mitsko i metafizičko u njoj što se odnosi na stvaranje i postanje sveta koji je "celokupnost svih pojava u prostoru i vremenu", sve je to poetski veoma uspešno utkano i u Stojanovićevim prethodnim knjigama, "Krugovanje" i "Sunce sebe gleda". Filozofsko često nadvlada ono lirsko, ali melodioznost i metaforicnost, u leksičkom pogledu bogata poezija Dejana Stojanovića, koji punu deceniju živi i stvara u Čikagu, čine ga lirikom-kosmosofistom koji nastavlja poetsku nit začetu lirskim krugovima Momčila Nastasijevića, Vaska Pope i Aleka Vukadinovića.

Grab your martini, the I.V. Lounge is Toronto's coziest place to kick back and listen to fiction or poetry. For ten years, every other Friday night, that's exactly what has happened at the I.V. Lounge reading series, as fiction writers read alongside poets, emerging talent next to established talent, and local writers with those passing through town.
I.V. Lounge Nights is an anthology that gathers twenty-nine talented writers together to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series, and relaxing with literature on a Friday night.
Fiction and poetry from Ray Hsu, David Clink, Carmine Starnino, Karen Solie, Matthew Tierney, Goran Simic, Rob Winger, Michael V Smith, Steve McOrmond, Dani Couture, Evie Christie, Leigh Kotsilidis, Sue Sinclair, Catherine Graham, Sharon McCartney, Molly Peacock , Michael Bryson, Shaun Smith, Matthew Trafford , James Grainger, Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer, Emily Schultz, Andrew Daley, Moez Surani, Jessica Westhead, Alayna Munce, Heather J. The work could last up to six months because there are long welds running roughly 5 km. The work is performed by technical staff at the SIMIC factory, Porto Marghera, Venice, Italy. Ten of the 18 TF coils will be delivered by F4E and its suppliers.
Nikolajevska Church
Nikolajevska Church is the oldest Orthodox temple in Novi Sad. It is first mentioned in chronicles in 1730 as a foundation of the Greek-origin Bogdanov family. The Church itself had long been a subject of dispute between Greek settlers and indigenous Serbs. This is why the service was held in both languages. The church saw its last Greek minister, Pavle Balta, who preached at the end of the 19th century. The original interior decoration, together with numerous works of art, perished in the bombardment of June 12th in 1849. Marija Trandafil and her husband Jovan, famous Serbian philanthropists and benefactors, entirely rebuilt the church after the bombardment. Their tomb now lies within the walls of shrine. The iconostasis was painted by Pavle Simić and it is featured by many German Nazarene elements. The wall paintings are attributed to Dimitrije Petrović Kerefeka, Nikola Dimšić and Živko Petrović. The smaller dome is a characteristic onion-shape Russian-style structure. One of the tombs in the outer walls reads the oldest locally recorded epigraphic of Novi Sad. The church has three crosses.
