Still with prewar styling (it was launched in 1937). Apparently it continued in production for just one more year, replaced by the Aronde.
My choice for car of show. Restored to a like-new condition, and looking like a miniature Facel-Vega (the body was designed and built by Facel Metallon). Simply French, Beaulieu Motor Museum. Sunday 17 July 2022.
This Aronde Fourgonnette (Delivery) was for sale in Jozerand (Dept. Puy-de-Dôme) on March 3, 2024.
I found it on a French site.
The advert said 'for spare parts or decoration'. Indeed there is a lot of work waiting to get it running.
Asking prize was € 100.
There were three generations Simca Aronde. This one is from the second generation which appeared in October 1955 at the Salon de Paris.
This Aronde is from model year 1957, recognizable by the enlarged rear door, but probably build in late 1956 because it still has the Simca monogram above the grille (so it could be a transition type).

Told my sister to get the Olympus Epm2 for her travel to NYC. I lent her my Panasonic 20mm. Unfortunately when she went, it was during Hurricane Sandy. Photo by my sister, edited by me.

Publicity photo of the new Simca 9 Sport Coupé. It turned out to be a very distinguished car for the upper-class.
The renewed Simca 9 Sport underwent lots of changes compared with the predecessor 8 Sport.
Note the characteristic circular Facel rear lights.
Simca had its golden age in the 1950s and 1960s. Shortly after the war the idea of an own sports car appeared in the head office of Simca. In october 1947 head of the Simca company Henri Pigozzi (1898-1964) visited the Milan Car Show. There he was impressed by the Fiat 1100 Cabriolet Élaboré prototype designed by the young Giovanni Michelotti at Studio Pininfarina, which very much remembered him to the fluid silhouette of the Cisitalia 202 Berlinette. Pigozzi obtained the license to build such a sports car. The first prototype was shown at the Paris Salon de l'Automobile in October 1948.
During 1949, the Simca 8 sports car continued to be developed in collaboration with Facel-Métallon, who actually finished the design and built the car.
Finally in October 1949 production could start.
For model year 1953 Facel remodeled the Simca 8 drastically and was renamed 9 Sport.
The Italian body style was abandoned in favour of a more Facel style monocle body without pronounced rear wings. The chassis structure and mechanics were based on the new Aronde. The grille and rear end were simplified, the grille got only one horizontal bar with integrated indicators.
At the 1952 Paris Motor Show (Oct. 1952) both 9 Sport cabriolet and coupé were on display. But the cabriolet version never came in production.
