The Indigo2 uses Fast SCSI hard drives. This disk is show mounted on an Indigo2 drive sled, which mates with the drive bay. The sled's connector carries power and drive ID in addition to SCSI data. The orange ribbon cable connects to the drive's ID jumper pins to set the drive's ID. The ID for each bay is fixed.
A minor project delivered a 3D visualisation tool for the vast amount of data collected by the Laser Airborne Depth Sounder Unit. Making use of Fledermaus software and a high end workstation for the Royal Australian Navy Hydrographic Service. Photographed in Cairns in Queensland, Australia, during final acceptance phase.
The cover has been removed from a purple Indigo2. A Solid Impact graphics board can be seen in the expansion bay. No drives are present.
