Label applied to the door of a decontaminated and derelict building at the former NAS Alameda.

More than one year after San Jose's Century Theaters closed, the iconic domes are still standing on Winchester Boulevard. The marquee remains standing, carrying only a message that the parking lot is available for customers of the shopping center across the street.

Surrounded by chain link fence, this sign pointed to the name of the movie playing at Century 23 for fifty years.

Parking sign at the former Vallco shopping mall, with debris from the mall's demolition visible in the distance.

Redevelopment of the mall site, originally developed in the 1970s, has been contentious for years. At the end of 2020 it appears certain that the acres formerly covered by the mall will be redeveloped into mixed-use housing and commercial property, with open spaces accessible to the public.

On the eve of the Republican National Convention, August 21, 2020 a coalition of Americans reeling from the COVID-related deaths of loved ones, unemployment, and all this crisis has wrought gathered at Barclays Center to turn their sadness and frustration into protest by organizing the March for the Dead, Fight for the Living, a candlelit procession across the Brooklyn Bridge to the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street in Manhattan demanding the Trump administration and beyond to take responsible action to save lives and end suffering.
