I've photographed Dennis a number of times and I've gotten to know him pretty well. Dennis has had a rough few mouths following the death of his long term girlfriend. To help keep her memories alive and fresh Dennis writes a lot of poetry which he likes to publish on his facebook page. At the moment he's trying to keep himself fit and healthy but is finding the mental side of things difficult.

Bearded head - the story continues. A few days ago I found three plastic heads down a back alley 6 or 7 blocks from downtown. Today I came across one of them again. Now with added message on its forehead this bearded head now belongs to vagrant "Logan" who is using it to ask for money while panhandling downtown. I wonder where the other two heads have gone?

Once envisioned as a centre for downtown for entertainment and shopping, the final demolition of Eau Claire Market, Calgary began early February 2025.

Steel snapped and tumbled to the snow-covered concrete as bulldozers ripped away pieces of Calgary's Eau Claire Market, a once popular mall near the Bow River built in the early 1990s.

The demolition is the next step to clear the way for a future train station that may never come, leaving groups in Calgary concerned the downtown neighbourhood will end up a casualty of political battles between city hall and the Alberta government.

I just voted early and there has been a vast number of others who have as well. Underneath my sweater I wore this T-shirt. I felt more compelled to vote this year than in 1968, the first time I was eligible to vote, and that was the start of the height of the Vietnam War. Trump and his fellow Republicans are at war with the American people and it has to be brought to an end!
